The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Senior Specialist, Research Services to join the Research and Administrative Services department. In cooperation with the Vice President of Research & Administrative Services, this individual will provide Wistar faculty and scientific staff with non-financial pre- and post-award grants administration support.

Responsibilities will include maintaining and monitoring pre- and post-award deliverable pipelines for a select group of Principal Investigator (PI) portfolios. In cooperation with the PIs, the successful candidate will compile and submit grant proposals and post-award reports. They will be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of federal grant deadlines, requirements and regulations. This position will include coordinating with various administrative offices on grant related matters inclusive of finance, legal, development, science administration, HR, IT and operations. This individual will also serve as a back up Signing Official when needed.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required, preferably in a business-related field. A minimum of 5 years in grants administration is also required. 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of pre- and post-award grants administration; knowledge of NIH application requirements and policy regulations; experience managing complex grant submissions and awards; experience managing multiple PI grant portfolios; experience with grant submissions and management portals such as NIH eRA Commons, Research.gov, eBRAP and Proposal Central; knowledge of NIH Public Access Policy; familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Sharepoint. We are seeking a candidate with stong analytical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Remote Work & Location Requirement: This is a fully remote position; however candidates must reside in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware.  Successful candidate may need to attend meetings or otherwise be present in our Philadelphia office when necessary.

Salary Range: $62,284 - $77,858
