Senior Software Engineer- Blockchain Platform (Wallets, Liquidity & Bridging)

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Wallets, Liquidity & Bridging team within the Platform organization. This team builds and operates the wallet systems, liquidity orchestration, and bridging infrastructure that power how Coinbase moves crypto assets across 55+ blockchain protocols for millions of users. You'll design and build the distributed backend systems that construct, sign, broadcast, and reconcile on-chain transactions, helping drive the next generation of wallet infrastructure with a focus on reliability, correctness, and multi-chain scalability.

What you'll do:

• Own the design and delivery of backend services (Go) that power wallet operations, liquidity movements, and cross-chain bridging across custodial and non-custodial flows.
• Build and improve the distributed systems that manage transaction lifecycle, signing, broadcasting, and on-chain reconciliation across multiple blockchain protocols including Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Solana.
• Drive reliability and observability improvements for wallet services, contributing to incident response, post-mortems, and systemic fixes that strengthen Tier-0 system availability.
• Partner with Trading, Custody, Staking, and cross-platform teams to integrate wallet services with downstream products, defining clear contracts and resolving cross-team dependencies.
• Execute service decomposition and architecture improvements that break down legacy systems into modular, reusable platform services other teams can build on.
• Support engineering quality across the team through rigorous code reviews, design feedback, and sharing knowledge on architectural patterns and coding standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with proficiency in Go and hands-on experience designing and operating service-oriented distributed systems.
• Demonstrated experience building, scaling, and maintaining production backend services with strict correctness and reliability requirements.
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies such as transaction construction, on-chain data indexing, or cross-chain integrations across protocols like Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Solana.
• Experience decomposing monolithic systems into scalable microservices or contributing to platform architecture that multiple teams depend on.
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams, communicate technical trade-offs clearly, and drive projects from design through production with autonomy.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
