The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) seeks a talented and experienced Senior Policy Analyst to join its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) team. This position offers an opportunity to help shape national and state policy at a critical moment for SNAP and to be part of a collaborative team working to protect, restore, and strengthen food assistance for individuals and families across the country.
The Senior Policy Analyst will analyze federal and state SNAP policy, translate complex legislative and regulatory developments into actionable information, and support advocacy strategies designed to protect access to benefits and strengthen program administration. The ideal candidate brings strong policy analysis and writing skills, substantive experience with SNAP, and the ability to move effectively between detailed policy analysis and broader advocacy strategy.
This is a fully remote position that offers opportunities to work in coalition with FRAC’s national, state, and local partners and to expand experience as a program analyst, strategist, coalition builder, and project manager. This position works closely with the SNAP Director and other Senior SNAP Policy Analyst. While this role is primarily remote, significant priority will be given to candidates based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including nearby Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs.

To attain this mission, FRAC engages in research, policy analysis and advocacy, coalition-building, outreach, technical assistance and training, and an array of communications strategies. In partnership with hundreds of national, state, and local nonprofit organizations, public agencies, corporations, and labor organizations, FRAC addresses hunger and food insecurity, and poverty as their root cause.

Salary/Benefits
The salary range for this position is $86,000 - $89,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Generous leave, health, retirement, and other benefits. FRAC’s normal office hours are between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm Eastern. This position is part of a union and is covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
