Senior SEO Specialist

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location: North Carolina

This Senior SEO Specialist position is responsible for driving SEO strategy, analysis, and optimization for First Citizens Bank's digital properties. This role requires deep expertise in technical SEO, content optimization, search analytics, and emerging AI-driven search experiences. The Senior SEO Analyst will partner across teams to improve organic visibility, user engagement, and business performance through data-driven SEO recommendations and execution.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead SEO strategy and execution across First Citizens Bank web properties, ensuring adherence to SEO best practices and search engine guidelines.
• Conduct technical SEO audits and identify opportunities to improve site architecture, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and overall search performance.
• Partner with Content Strategy, UX/UI, Development, Analytics, and Marketing teams to integrate SEO recommendations into ongoing website enhancements and content initiatives.
• Perform keyword research, competitive analysis, and search trend monitoring to identify opportunities for traffic growth and content optimization.
• Develop SEO requirements and provide guidance for new website features, content updates, and digital experiences to ensure search visibility is considered throughout the development lifecycle.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on SEO performance using platforms such as Google Search Console, Adobe Analytics, and enterprise SEO tools, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical SEO issues, partnering with development teams to prioritize and resolve them efficiently.
• Incorporate AI Search optimization strategies, including visibility within Google AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, and other emerging generative search experiences.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to organic traffic, rankings, engagement, conversions, and AI Search visibility.
• Stay current on search engine algorithm updates, industry trends, and evolving AI-driven search technologies, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
• Manage and prioritize SEO-related work within Jira, collaborating with technical teams to ensure timely implementation of optimization initiatives.
• Educate stakeholders on SEO best practices and the impact of search performance on business goals, fostering cross-functional alignment and awareness.

The Senior SEO Analyst serves as a strategic partner across Marketing, Content, Analytics, UX, and Technology teams to drive organic growth, enhance digital experiences, and ensure that First Citizens Bank maintains a strong presence across traditional and emerging search platforms.

Qualifications:

Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 6 years' experience OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 10 years' experience in Digital, Information Technology or Marketing, or Interaction design

Preferred Area of Study:HCI (Human Computer Interaction) or Interaction Design, Marketing, Business

Preferred Area of Experience:Financial Services Industry

Position Specific Skills:

• Understanding of search engine optimization and familiarity with digital content operations
• Current and experienced knowledge of web design, digital content, and marketing trends in the banking industry
• Ability to assess business opportunities and develop content strategies with a focus on financial implications
• Ability to understand risk and compliance implications within marketing strategy projects and campaigns
• Ability to utilize a customer-centric mindset and design approach
