About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Development Full-Stack Engineer to join a fast-growing fintech company focused on building secure, scalable financial systems. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions while helping improve the developer experience through APIs, SDKs, technical documentation, and developer enablement initiatives.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, API development, and software architecture, along with a passion for building reliable systems in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications and services.
- Write clean, reusable, and reliable code that supports highly available, high-volume transaction processing systems.
- Lead the design and implementation of medium to large-scale software features and projects.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including sprint planning, daily standups, estimation, and retrospectives.
- Write unit tests and perform code reviews to ensure software quality and maintainability.
- Design and develop APIs and SDKs to support external developer integrations.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, tutorials, integration guides, and code samples.
- Improve performance, scalability, and usability across developer portals and applications.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
- Embed PCI DSS v4.0 compliance requirements into developer workflows, documentation, and integration practices.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in engineering processes, developer experience, and platform performance.
- Research and adopt new technologies, tools, and development practices when appropriate.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails development.
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, including database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Experience building and maintaining SDKs and developer tools.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as PCI DSS or similar compliance frameworks.
- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable application development.
- Experience conducting code reviews and implementing automated testing practices.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Strong attention to security, performance, and developer experience.
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies, programming languages, and AI-assisted development tools.
Nice to Have
- Fintech, payments, or financial services industry experience.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience building developer portals or technical enablement programs.
- Experience working with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code.
