Senior React Native Engineer - GP, Remote: Colombia - Costa Rica, Fulltime

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack to join a collaborative engineering team focused on building reliable, scalable, and engaging digital experiences.

In this role, you will work across React Native mobile applications and backend services, taking ownership of features from technical design through production. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges and deliver high-quality customer experiences.

The ideal candidate brings strong full-stack engineering experience, hands-on expertise with React Native and TypeScript/JavaScript, and experience designing and operating backend APIs and distributed systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, test, and launch end-to-end product experiences across React Native applications, APIs, and backend systems.
• Deliver complex features across the full stack, from mobile interfaces and client-side state management to APIs, data models, and production operations.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Translate product requirements and technical challenges into scalable engineering solutions.
• Define technical plans and architecture for significant features and system components.
• Design and maintain clear contracts between mobile applications and backend services.
• Identify and implement solutions to technical, process, and product challenges.
• Improve system reliability through monitoring, observability, production support, and incident response.
• Contribute to engineering standards across development, testing, code reviews, architecture, and operational practices.
• Work effectively within large, established codebases while delivering changes safely.
• Mentor engineers and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience building and shipping production mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience designing, developing, and operating backend APIs and distributed systems.
• Ability to independently deliver features across the full stack, including mobile UI, client-side state management, APIs, data models, and production operations.
• Strong understanding of mobile engineering practices, including performance, offline and error states, observability, testing, accessibility, and release management.
• Experience defining technical plans and designing scalable, maintainable, and extensible solutions.
• Ability to write high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code.
• Experience making significant changes safely within large codebases.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including testing, code reviews, monitoring, and production reliability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating across distributed teams.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and take ownership of complex engineering challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python or Kotlin for backend development.
• Experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing applications at scale.
• Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership within an engineering team.
