About the role: 

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will join our Underwriting team who is on a mission to make risk-informed decisions faster, smarter and more consistent – across the entire quote and policy lifecycle. We're building decisioning models and underwriting rules that power profitable growth, and we need quality at the heart of it. 

Joining the team, you'll work across backend and frontend systems in a team that's 70% focused on new development. That means less maintenance treadmill, more building something that matters. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, product manager, and data teams across US and Poland – gaining real cross-functional exposure while helping share how we ship reliable software at scale. This is a role where your work has direct line to business outcomes. If you care about quality as a craft, not just a checkbox, than is a right palce for you :)

• You'll deeply collaborate with Underwriting Engineering team within HHIP Business Unit. This includes actively participating in the development of new features and initiatives, from initial requirement analysis and test planning to execution, regression testing, and final release sign-off.
• You'll partner closely with Product Managers. This means you will be responsible for prioritizing testing efforts, clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions from a quality perspective, coordinating Business Acceptance Testing, and advocating for the needs of our customers. 
• You'll work closely with SDETs to expand and maintain our automated test coverage for new features and regression testing. You'll also collaborate with other manual QA engineers on cross-team and cross-BU projects.  
• You'll proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. 

• Have 4+ years of QA experience, with a focus on manual testing (Black Box, White Box, and Grey Box).
• Have a good knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Are experienced in API testing using Postman or Swagger, including validation of API requests and responses.
• Are proficient in PostgreSQL for data validation, query writing, and ensuring accuracy of related data.
• Have experience with test case design, execution, and reporting for complex systems (front-end and back-end). 
• Have good analytical skills and attention to detail. 
• Posses excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
• Are an independent problem solver but also a collaborative team player. 
• Have a great command of English (written & spoken) and at least basic of Polish. 
• Are available in the afternoons – we prioritize everyone’s personal time and work-life fit, but since we work in multinational teams, occasional evening meetings may be necessary to ensure smooth communication across time zones.

• Experience working in Insurance Industry.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. 
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their impact on the QA process. 
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Coralogix, Prometheus). 
• Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Playright, Selenium, Cypress), frameworks (e.g., Jest, Moka) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Javascript) for supporting occasional automation tasks. 
• Experience with Non-functional testing.
