How you´ll help us:
As a Senior Product Manager (m/f/d) you will:
- Act as the product management representative for overseas markets throughout the development of new inverter and battery products
- Provide market-driven technical input during product definition, architecture discussions and design reviews
- Evaluate new product concepts and challenge technical solutions from a customer and application perspective
- Identify product risks, missing functionality and market gaps early in the process
- Support HQ Product Management in prioritising customer requirements and balancing technical trade-offs
- Act as the primary interface between overseas customers and HQ Product Management for technically demanding applications
- Support key customer meetings – often involving C&I and utility-scale opportunities
- Translate customer requirements into clear and actionable product recommendations
- Lead the creation of Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) for new products and major product enhancements
- Work closely with HQ during development to clarify application requirements and validate proposed solutions
- Contribute to technical reviews, feature prioritisation and product roadmap planning
- Support technical decision making by combining market insight with practical product knowledge
- Monitor market trends and upcoming regulatory developments affecting our products
- Ensure overseas regulatory requirements are considered during product development
- Collaborate with certification specialists and external laboratories during product validation
- Support and coordinate product validation activities through the Test Center Cologne
- Define market-specific validation scenarios and application testing
- Review firmware and hardware performance from a customer perspective
- Ensure products are ready for successful market introduction – hands-on
- Support the complete lifecycle of inverter and battery products from product definition to phase-out
- Contribute to portfolio strategy based on market developments and competitive analysis
- Support product launches and technical marketing activities
- Deliver technical product training for Sales and Technical Support teams
- Assist Sales with technically complex customer opportunities
- Contribute to business cases for new products and product investments
- Build strong working relationships with Product Management, R&D, Certification, Quality and Technical Support
- Collaborate closely with HQ teams in Shanghai, Suzhou and Xi'an
- Foster effective communication between international markets and headquarters
- Support continuous improvement of product management processes within the overseas organisation
Requirements
Your background and skills:
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Application Engineering, Technical Product Management or similar positions
- Strong experience with photovoltaic inverters, hybrid inverters and battery energy storage systems
- Experience supporting technically demanding customers within residential, commercial or utility markets
- Experience working closely with hardware and firmware development teams
- Experience working in international organisations with global development teams is highly desirable
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
- Good understanding of power electronics, inverter topology, battery systems and overall energy system architecture without being a hardware design expert
- Ability to discuss technical concepts confidently with R&D and engineering teams
- Strong understanding of international market requirements and customer applications
- Experience translating customer needs into structured product requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- High degree of ownership and ability to work independently – also for hands-on topics
- Understanding of international grid codes and product certification processes
- Experience with energy management systems or smart energy ecosystems
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Chinese is beneficial but not required
