AI Summary

Translate real-world process engineering workflows into product requirements and validation checks for an AI-driven preconstruction platform. Define repeatable checks to reduce rework and automate repetitive tasks across engineering disciplines.

What We’re Building

Candid is building the AI layer for EPCs.

We use AI to reduce the manual effort behind preconstruction engineering by automating document understanding, consistency checks, and repetitive workflow steps across major disciplines. Our goal is to make preconstruction 10x faster without sacrificing engineering quality.

We recently raised $6.5M from top AI and industrial investors (including Schneider Electric and Meta’s Chief AI Scientist). Our team includes engineers from MIT, Carnegie Mellon, major LNG and power projects, and leading EPCs.

What You Will Do

You will help us translate real process engineering workflows into product requirements and validation checks:

  • Define how preconstruction process work is done in practice and what “good” looks like

  • Review and validate process deliverables across early phase engineering packages

  • Build repeatable checks to catch inconsistencies across key documents and handoffs

  • Map where rework happens, why it happens, and what inputs typically drive it

  • Clarify interface points with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation

  • Identify which steps are repetitive vs which require real engineering judgement

You'll help define the checks, workflows, and product requirements that let software take on the repetitive parts, with engineers in control.

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years at an EPC, PMC, or owner operator

  • Strong understanding of FEED and detailed design workflows

  • Deep experience owning PFD and P&ID development

  • Experience running simulations in Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or similar tools

  • Strong fundamentals in relief, hydraulics, and sizing workflows

  • Knowledge of API, ASME, NFPA, ISA, or similar standards

  • Ability to spot inconsistencies across P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor packages

  • Clear understanding of cross discipline dependencies

Nice to Have

  • Experience as discipline lead or technical authority

  • Familiarity with flare system modeling and relief calculation packages

  • Interest in AI or automation

Perks

  • Meaningful base + equity

  • Unlimited PTO: We believe great work requires recharging.

  • Insurance: Generous health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision.

  • Health and Wellness Budget: We provide up to $150/mo reimbursement for health and
wellness spending, such as gym memberships, fitness classes, or similar.
