The Senior Marketing Workflow Manager oversees the intake, prioritization, and routing of creative work to ensure timely delivery across various channels. They manage team capacity, facilitate tradeoff conversations, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders to resolve bottlenecks.

About the Role

At H&R Block, we're helping people confidently navigate one of the most important financial moments of the year. Our Creative team produces the work that carries that message across broadcast, digital, social, retail, and our offices. We're looking for an organized, decisive Marketing Workflow Manager to manage how that work comes in, how it gets prioritized, and how it moves to delivery.

In this role, you'll own intake for the Creative function, hold the work queue, track team capacity, and route work through concepting, production, review, and approval. You'll be the person requesters come to for timelines, status, and a straight answer on what is possible and by when.

Two workflow managers share the Creative function as peers, dividing the work between campaign creative and always-on and content, and covering each other as volume requires.

This is not a creative direction role. It's the role that protects the team's ability to do great work by making sure requests arrive complete, priorities are clear, and nothing sits waiting on a decision no one knew was needed. If you enjoy bringing order to high volume and being the person everyone trusts to know where the work stands, we'd love to hear from you.

Day to day, you'll...

  • Manage incoming requests for the Creative function
  • Validate that briefs are complete, well scoped, and tied to an approved campaign, initiative, or program
  • Confirm audience, message, deliverable list, channel specifications, and required dates before work enters the queue
  • Return incomplete requests to the requester rather than absorbing the gap downstream
  • Track work through concepting, design, copy, and production
  • Route assets through brand, legal, and compliance review and drive approvals to closure
  • Manage handoffs to media, lifecycle, and digital teams for trafficking and deployment
  • Monitor progress against timelines and escalate blockers early
  • Maintain the work queue and priority order for your body of work
  • Flag misaligned, duplicated, or low-priority requests and conflicts across campaign and always-on work
  • Facilitate tradeoff conversations with GTM Strategy, Marketing Program Managers, and Creative leadership when demand exceeds capacity
  • Track capacity and utilization across design, copy, production, and agency partners
  • Provide visibility into available bandwidth to inform resourcing and sequencing decisions
  • Communicate timelines, expectations, and status to requesters and leadership
  • Surface recurring bottlenecks and process gaps, and recommend improvements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in workflow management, traffic management, project management, marketing operations, or a related field
  • Experience managing creative production workflow, including review, approval, and asset delivery across multiple channels
  • Experience managing intake, prioritization, and throughput for a marketing, creative, or media function
  • Demonstrated ability to build and hold timelines with multiple dependencies and fixed deadlines
  • Experience using a work management or workflow platform as the system of record, such as Workfront, Wrike, Asana, or Jira
  • Proven ability to facilitate tradeoffs, renegotiate scope, and drive alignment without direct authority
  • Experience tracking team capacity and utilization and translating it into resourcing recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort managing a high volume of concurrent work
  • Clear verbal and written communication with stakeholders at every level
  • Ability to identify risks and blockers early and escalate with a recommended path forward
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with seasonal peaks in demand

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing creative work across broadcast, digital, social, retail, and print
  • Experience managing studio or agency production queues at high asset volume
  • Experience working within a Marketing Operations, Program Management Office, or centralized workflow function
  • Experience in Workfront, including request queues, templates, and reporting
  • Experience supporting the transition of work from agency partners to in-house teams
