Senior Lead Java Developer

A Day in the Life:

• Lead and mentor developers through solution design, development, testing, code reviews, and delivery
• Design and build scalable, secure backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot
• Develop and optimize Java solutions that work with large, complex data sets while maintaining strong performance and reliability
• Enhance existing software products by developing new functionality, improving existing code, and resolving complex technical challenges
• Translate business and client requirements into effective technical solutions from design through implementation
• Actively use AI tools, including Claude through our Anthropic partnership, to streamline tasks, improve the quality of your work, and share best practices with teammates while continuously seeking new ways to integrate AI into your everyday workflows
• Promote strong development practices around code quality, maintainability, testing, and secure coding
• Collaborate with architects, product stakeholders, and engineering teams to evaluate technical approaches and support solution design decisions
• Own key development deliverables and help ensure high-quality solutions are completed successfully within project timelines

What it takes:

• Consultative approach and problem solving skills to successfully align digital solutions with long-term business goals of the client
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance daily work, or a strong desire to do so, including a willingness to experiment, learn, and champion AI adoption within your role
• Claude Certified Developer or Architect highly preferred; possible opportunity to obtain as a Sparq colleague
• Commitment to understanding and exceeding client expectations
• Ability to perform project oversight and execution of deliverables
