dordar.com is an early-stage company developing a new approach to business coordination. Our vision is to help organizations coordinate people, AI, knowledge, applications, and work so they can operate more effectively and achieve measurable business outcomes.

The product is still under development. This engineer will join the core Product & Engineering team and help shape and build the platform from an early stage. The current engineering surface includes HTTP contracts, strict TypeScript services, PostgreSQL, events, AWS infrastructure, and tests. There is no frontend application or approved React/Next.js decision today.

What You’ll Do

• Own bounded platform changes from diagnosis through implementation and verification.
• Build strict TypeScript services, PostgreSQL data and tenant boundaries, HTTP contracts, events, tests, and AWS serverless infrastructure.
• Use Cursor and AI assistance through disciplined prompts and evidence-based review.
• Protect architecture boundaries, authorization, idempotency, and replay safety.
• Adapt to future frontend work after an explicit framework decision.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong TypeScript/Node platform engineering and PostgreSQL fundamentals.
• Sound architecture judgment and root-cause diagnosis across asynchronous systems.
• Precise technical communication with testable acceptance criteria.
• Disciplined AI-assisted development that does not substitute generated output for verification.
• Production experience building tool-using agents with OpenAI or Anthropic APIs/SDKs, including evaluation and operational failure handling.

The Profile That Will Thrive Here

• A hands-on senior engineer who enjoys building an early-stage platform where some decisions are still evolving.
• Comfortable identifying missing requirements, challenging assumptions, and pausing when architectural authority is unclear.
• Experienced owning work across TypeScript services, PostgreSQL, APIs, events, infrastructure, and behavioral testing.
• Has personally built and operated AI agents using OpenAI or Anthropic APIs/SDKs, including tool use, structured outputs, state, retries, evaluations, tracing, and failure handling.
• Uses Cursor or comparable AI-assisted development tools while independently validating generated code and technical claims.
• Diagnoses root causes before changing code and can explain decisions using precise, testable evidence.
• Works effectively with a small team, takes responsibility for outcomes, and communicates risks early.
• Can adapt to future frontend responsibilities without requiring dordar.com to select a framework prematurely.

Evidence We Value

Relevant evidence may come from production systems, substantial independent projects, open-source work, or technically comparable work samples. We care more about demonstrated engineering judgment and ownership than company prestige, credentials, or a specific number of years.

Role Details

• Permanent employee role in Canada.
• Remote, hybrid, or on-site arrangements may be considered. Office: North Vancouver, British Columbia.
• Base salary: CAD $100,000-$120,000.
• Employees become eligible for consideration for an equity grant after six months of employment, subject to a documented contribution review, the company’s equity plan, and formal grant approval.
• Additional employment terms are provided after initial interest and before the live engineering assessment.

Selection Process

The first evaluation stage is a 90-minute live, observed engineering exercise using a sanitized TypeScript repository. AI-assisted development tools are permitted and expected. The exercise evaluates reasoning, implementation, verification, and adaptation; it is not production work for dordar.com. An equivalent format is available for candidates who require accommodation.
