Position Description

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at iBusiness, you are an experienced individual contributor with impact at the team and domain level, and growing influence across Product Engineering. You design, build, and operate high-quality, scalable software across both frontend and backend systems, delivering meaningful value to customers while maintaining strong standards for security, reliability, and maintainability.

You operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking complex or ambiguous requirements and refining them into well-structured technical solutions. You collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, and DevSecOps, contribute to architectural decisions within your domain, and act as a mentor and technical leader for other engineers.

You will be building AI-first, cloud-native platforms that power financial services and enterprise workflows, using modern tooling and AI-augmented development practices to ship faster and with higher quality.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on problem solving, ownership through delivery, and raising the technical bar for the teams around them—without moving into people management

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Design, implement, test, and operate full-stack features and services from concept through production
• Translate complex business and product requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
• Contribute to system and application design, identifying trade-offs and guiding technical decisions within your domain
• Responsible for performance of owned services in production systems end-to-end, including performance, reliability, observability, and operational health
• Ensure high standards for code quality, security, and maintainability across services and applications
• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities early, and proactively adjust course with the team
• Participate extensively in code reviews, pairing, and technical discussions, mentoring engineers through example
• Drive continuous improvement by reducing technical debt and improving engineering processes and standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, QA, and DevSecOps to deliver high-impact outcomes
• Use data, observability, and feedback loops to evaluate customer impact and system performance
• Contribute to shared engineering practices, documentation, and platform-level improvements
• Leverage AI tools and workflows to enhance development velocity and code quality

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong experience building and operating full-stack applications in production environments
• Proficiency in modern frontend technologies (e.g. React, TypeScript, component-based architecture)
• Strong backend experience (e.g. Node.js, Python, Go, or similar) and API design (REST/JSON)
• Experience with cloud-native systems (preference for AWS: e.g. Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, API Gateway)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and scalable architecture patterns
• Experience with databases, data modelling, validation, high-level database design (e.g. PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or similar)
• Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals: system design, testing strategies, and performance optimization
• Understanding of security fundamentals and ability to identify security implications in design decisions
• Experience working with observability, debugging, and production systems
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems while aligning effectively with stakeholders
• Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
• Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with a strong commitment to long-term quality

• Experience with tenant based architecture
• Experience building AI-enabled systems or working with LLM/agent frameworks
• Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g. SNS, SQS)
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines)
• Experience in fintech or regulated environments
• Experience with observability tooling, incident response, and production support
• Contributions to shared platforms, design systems, or internal tooling
• Experience working in fully remote, globally distributed teams
