WHY JOIN US
If you're looking for a place to grow, make an impact, and work with people who care, we'd love to meet you!
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to build personalized, high-complexity email templates and reusable components using React, TypeScript, and Apache Velocity, integrating live API data to deliver dynamically populated, production-ready email experiences. You will translate Figma designs into modular, scalable code frameworks within an internal email platform, develop responsive email experiences, and build lifecycle marketing audiences using SQL and custom APIs. You will also collaborate with Design Systems to evolve the platform toward a modern, modular, AI-assisted self-service architecture.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Build personalized, high-complexity email templates, as well as reusable product-specific components by consuming data from various APIs and injecting it seamlessly into email UI logic. Reusable components will be built in React, Velocity, and any external email tool.
- Unblock the immediate pipeline of complex, data-heavy campaigns that require engineering depth beyond static layouts.
- Turn Figma files into modular, responsive, and reusable code components within our email tools.
- Create and optimize lifecycle marketing campaign audiences using complex SQL queries and custom APIs.
- Reduce reliance on external engineering and partner team priorities that build campaigns in the internal email platform.
- Collaborate with Design Systems to transition the team toward a modern, modular, and AI-assisted self-service architecture.
- Deliver production-ready, dynamically populated email templates—often utilizing Apache Velocity JS code (e.g., automated summaries, ROI dashboards) powered by live API data.
- Build clean, scalable code frameworks within the internal email tool that pull directly from internal data sources.
- Ensure fully validated A/B testing setups with complete data and measurement tracking integrity.
MUST HAVES
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of related experience, OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Your most recent role on your resume should be as a Software Engineer with a front-end focus. This role prioritizes strong software engineering principles over traditional email production.
- Robust front-end development experience using modern web technologies (React is highly prioritized, TypeScript, and JavaScript).
- Proven experience integrating user interfaces with backend platforms, ideally for email-specific purposes.
- Strong command of Apache Velocity (VTL) and Macros (#set, #if, #foreach, #define), understanding how components compose into full templates.
- While Apache Velocity is preferred, candidates without direct Velocity experience will be considered if they have strong hands-on experience with server-side templating technologies, with a proven ability to architect, write, and implement complex template logic and reusable macros from scratch.
- Mastery of hand-coding highly responsive, accessible HTML/CSS optimized to bypass the rendering limitations of email clients (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail).
- Experience working with scalable design systems, building and using shared components over one-off layouts.
- Strong architectural judgment on when to extend an existing component versus when to build a new one.
- Highly fluent with Git (GitLab/GitHub), the command line, and modern IDEs (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code).
- A/B testing setups with complete data and measurement tracking integrity.
- Creating and optimizing lifecycle marketing campaign audiences using complex SQL queries and custom APIs.
- Upper-intermediate English level.
NICE TO HAVES
- Past experience in email development is valued, but remains secondary to strong, core front-end engineering principles.
- Practical experience leveraging AI developer tools (such as Cursor, Windsurf, Claude, or AI-driven code fixes) to accelerate development and operational workflows.
- Prior exposure to component internationalization (i18n) and localization frameworks.
- Familiarity with Figma, specifically for translating designs into modular code components.
- Basic understanding of AWS primitives (compute, storage, networking, IAM).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (e.g., Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI).
