The role

For Dolby’s PC Applications, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of consumer-facing, client-side applications used at global scale.

As a Senior Engineer QA, you are the quality owner for defined features or application areas. You work hands-on with automation and validation, independently driving test strategy, risk assessment, and release readiness within your scope.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You collaborate closely with software engineers and product partners, influencing quality outcomes through technical expertise.

What we offer

  • Work on consumer-facing PC applications with global reach and high quality expectations.

  • An engineering led quality culture that values ownership, accountability, and collaboration.

  • Modern development and validation workflows, including automation and CI/CD.

  • Opportunities to grow technical depth, influence quality decisions, and mentor other engineers.

What you will do

  • Own quality outcomes for assigned features or application areas, making clear recommendations on release readiness and risk trade-offs.

  • Define and execute test strategies, plans, and coverage for new and existing functionality.

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across multiple levels (functional, integration, system, endtoend).

  • Drive automation and CI/CD based quality gates to ensure reliable and predictable releases.

  • Investigate complex, system level issues and collaborate closely with software engineers on root cause analysis.

  • Improve testability, coverage, and reliability through collaboration with engineering and product teams.

  • Mentor other QA engineers and promote best practices in Software Quality Assurance (SQA).

What you bring

Required

  • Strong experience in Software Quality Assurance (SQA) or quality engineering for consumer or client-side software.

  • Hands-on experience with test automation and quality tooling, using scripting or programming languages such as Python.

  • Ability to independently define test strategy, assess risk, and take ownership of quality outcomes within a defined scope.

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD driven development and validation workflows.

  • Ability to analyze, debug, and reason about issues in C# based client applications, even if not writing production application code daily.

  • Experience validating client-side applications with high requirements for stability, reliability, and release quality.

  • Clear communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with engineering and product partners.

Nice to have

  • Experience building or extending automation frameworks in Python.

  • Experience testing Windows based desktop or platform level applications.

  • Experience debugging system level or native components (e.g. C++ dependencies).

  • Interest in mentoring and helping grow other QA engineers.
