Job Description

Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Commercial Due Diligence Leadership
    • Lead Commercial Assessments: Direct the full scope of commercial due diligence for external assets (pre-clinical through commercial stage). This includes validating the unmet need, target patient and treater populations, competitive landscape, and market access environment.
    • Revenue Forecasting: Build and own the long-term revenue forecasts that underpin deal valuation models. Develop multiple scenarios (planning case, upside, downside) based on clinical trial outcomes, label claims, payer restrictions, competitive dynamics, and strategic commercialization options to maximize value.
    • Primary & Secondary Research: Execute on, commission, and synthesize multiple simultaneous, rapid-turnaround primary and secondary market research (KOL interviews, payer boards) to validate clinical value propositions during active deal sprints.
    • Collaboration with cross-functional colleagues (e.g., executive leadership, Market Access, Business Units/Commercial teams, regional stakeholders) as necessary for deal assumption development and socialization
  • Deal Strategy & Portfolio Fit
    • Strategic Thesis Development: Define the "Why" for every transaction. Articulate how specific external assets fit within the Oncology portfolio strategies, analyzing potential synergies and risks.
    • Therapeutic Area Strategy: Collaborate with R&D, corporate development, corporate strategy, and commercial leadership to define the "areas of interest" (search fields) for business development. Identify white space in the market where the company should actively hunt for assets.
  • Digital Transformation and Diligence Innovation
    • Pioneer Next-Generation Diligence: Spearhead the transition from traditional commercial assessment methodologies to a reimagined, tech-forward approach. Integrate cutting-edge tools and advanced predictive analytics into the commercial diligence and valuation process
    • Drive Change Management: Champion a culture of continuous learning and high adaptability (growth mindset) within the deal teams to drive the adoption of innovative methodologies and processes.
  • Executive Communication & Governance
    • Investment Committee Presentations: Create and deliver high-stakes presentations to EC members and Board of Directors (as needed), succinctly summarizing the commercial opportunity, risks, and strategic rationale for a deal, and effectively responding to/integrating leadership questions/feedback
    • Risk Assessment: Provide objective views on commercial scenarios and risks (e.g., launch trajectory, competitive dynamics) to ensure leadership makes informed "Go/No-Go" decisions.
