Senior Director, Financial & Tax Planning
Job Summary:
The Senior Director, Financial & Tax Planning (SDFTP) will hold both a CPA and a CFP®/PFS designation. The SDFTP will lead and execute the firm’s comprehensive financial and tax planning objectives. In this role, you will establish standardized frameworks for complex wealth management strategies—integrating investments, retirement, tax, insurance, philanthropy, and estate planning.
Utilizing advanced analytical tools, the SDFTP evaluates client portfolios and delivers strategic short- and long-term recommendations. Additionally, you will lead the Financial Planning team, ensuring all client deliverables meet firm guidelines.
- Contribute to the advanced development and implementation of comprehensive financial plans for high-net-worth clients.
- Develop and oversee retirement projections, risk management analyses, and estate plans alongside actionable recommendations.
- Review complex tax returns, prepare precise tax projections and estimates, and formulate strategic tax recommendations.
- Support firm Advisors through specialized financial planning research tailored to unique client profiles.
- Present sophisticated financial concepts clearly to clients and prospects during key consultations.
- Summarize client and prospect meeting actions, ensuring tasks are efficiently delegated and tracked.
- Lead and participate in strategic projects designed to scale and optimize the firm’s client service capabilities.
- Evaluate insurance strategies, employee benefits, retirement planning, and charitable giving vehicles.
- Analyze asset allocations to ensure investment portfolios align with the client’s risk profile and projected return goals.
- Lead team development by mentoring, training, and supervising the planning team.
Required Qualifications:
- Dual-designated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) — Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential also accepted.
- 10+ years of experience with a focus on tax and financial planning
- 7-10 years of managerial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Outstanding problem-solving skills that allow you to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions
- Excellent communication skills with your team members, clients, and vendors
- A humble spirit that allows you share your knowledge with team members while being open to learning from others
- Working knowledge of investments, insurance, employee benefits, and retirement planning
- Familiarity with Wealthbox, Holistiplan, Microsoft Suite, InStream, Orion (preferred)
- High integrity and strong work ethic, with a client-oriented focus
