Are you a cloud infrastructure expert looking for your next challenge? Join our team as a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer and help us build resilient, scalable, and secure cloud solutions. You will join a 6-month transformation initiative focused on simplifying an AWS network environment, improving security, maintainability and scalability. The project involves designing a streamlined architecture with a reduced number of subnets and controlled connectivity, followed by a phased migration of services.
What you will be doing:
Implement and maintain the target infrastructure through Terraform and automation tooling, translating the target architecture into reusable, version-controlled IaC in close collaboration with the Solution Architect and Network Engineer
Maintain and adapt CI/CD pipelines required for infrastructure and application deployment, including the setup and support of a parallel test environment with Concourse pipelines alongside the existing Jenkins setup
Coordinate deployment and migration activities with internal teams and third parties, helping resolve technical dependencies and ensuring service level objectives are maintained throughout the transition
Monitor and validate migrated services, including API connectivity checks with tools such as Postman
Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment processes, tooling and operational practices used across the cloud environment
You are a good match if you have:
5+ years of experience as an AWS DevOps Engineer
Strong hands-on AWS experience in deploying and monitoring production containerised services
Strong experience with Terraform-based infrastructure as code (IaC), including supporting migration from selected CloudFormation templates to Terraform where required
Working knowledge of AWS networking: VPCs, subnets, routing and security groups
Experience with serverless and container deployments (Lambda, Docker, ECS)
Experience using scripts to automate the configuration of services and tools via their APIs or SDKs with a background using Python and other tools (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Shell)
Experience developing in a source-controlled workspace (GitHub/Bitbucket)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and Concourse
Experience in deploying and managing deployments of relational databases such as MS SQL, MySQL and Postgres
Understanding of the software engineering lifecycle, including design, architecture, test automation, deployment automation, monitoring and alerting
Linux experience, especially Amazon Linux
Strong English communication skills
About you:
Collaborative and team-oriented, with a strong delivery mindset
Practical and hands-on in solving infrastructure and automation challenges
Comfortable working across changing migration environments and delivery constraints
Proactive in improving tooling, automation and deployment practices
Focused on delivering reliable outcomes in complex cloud environments
