Lead and unite the technology practice by bridging the gap between design and engineering while managing a team of technologists. Responsible for frontend architecture, maintaining design systems, and overseeing project planning across multiple client engagements.
The person we're looking for
We're seeking a Senior Design Technology Lead to lead and unite our growing technology practice. This is an in-agency role, the first of its kind, and would work closely with our sister development company in Bulgaria. Internally, we have a team of technologists and web developers who would report directly into this role, so the ideal candidate is someone who will bring our tech people together in a meaningful way, shape the department's direction, and bridge the gap between design and engineering across everything we do.
Job Overview
Some things you will be responsible for:
- Shape how our team works, stay sharp on what's happening in the industry, and look for ways to make our tools and processes a little better.
- Coach your direct reports on goal setting and growth, and use empathy and encouragement to guide them through the tougher conversations.
- Build a team culture where engineers and designers genuinely enjoy working together and do better work because of it.
- Hold the team to Multiplayer's quality standards and ensure that this quality is upheld across multiple workstreams.
- Write clean, maintainable code across HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React, with enough depth to spot quality issues, debug effectively, and set the standard for the team.
- Evaluate and deploy AI assisted development tools like Cursor, Lovable, Claude Code, and v0, and use good judgment about when they speed things up and when a human really needs to take a closer look.
- Lead frontend architecture decisions on client projects, including how components are structured, how state is managed, and what development and QA standards the team can count on.
- Build rapid prototypes and coded explorations using whatever tool fits best, including hardware and software integrations for physical computing prototypes.
- Champion our design systems at the token and variable level, work fluently in Figma, and help maintain component libraries that keep delivery consistent across projects.
- Partner closely with our sister development company, turning design and product intent into clear technical direction while keeping everyone aligned on standards and timelines.
- Serve as the technical thought partner to designers, strategists, and clients, scoping effort, flagging risk early, and speaking up with confidence when something needs to change.
- Lead project planning across several engagements at once, keeping workstreams, resourcing, risk, and scope changes organized so your team always knows what's next.
Last but certainly not least, as a member of our team we hope you embrace and contribute to our culture of continuous creative improvement, innovation, and excellence — and always look for ways to make a positive impact on the team!
