At Jampp, we solve the most complex and large-scale technological challenges in mobile advertising today. We process over 2,500,000 ad requests per second, which amounts to over 250TB of data per day, across three global data centers. We rely on real-time machine learning models (with billions of features) that give us predictions in less than 100ms. As a Senior Data Engineer, you won't just build pipelines. You'll set the technical direction for how Jampp's data infrastructure evolves. You'll design, architect, and operate large-scale distributed systems across all environments, make key technology decisions, and mentor the engineers around you as we build our next-generation data infrastructure.

If you have deep, hands-on experience with distributed systems at scale, a strong command of Python, and you thrive owning ambiguous, high-impact technical problems in a fast-paced environment, you might be the new Jampper we're looking for.

WHAT YOU´LL DO

• Own the architecture and technical roadmap for key pieces of Jampp's data infrastructure, not just implement it, but define how it should evolve.
• Design and implement ETL processes from a wide variety of sources, with an eye toward scalability, incrementality, and long-term maintainability.
• Partner closely with Data Scientists and other Senior/Staff engineers to design scalable data models and pipelines that support real-time ML infrastructure.
• Drive data consistency and reliability standards across Jampp's systems and machine learning inputs, including defining what "good" looks like for the rest of the team.
• Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks: benchmark systems, diagnose root causes, and propose architectural solutions rather than one-off fixes.
• Build and evolve the tools and frameworks that empower colleagues across the company to access data and build reliable, scalable transformations on their own.
• Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers. You'll be a technical reference point on the team, not just an individual contributor.
• Contribute to technical decision-making around tooling and infrastructure choices, weighing trade-offs at a systems level.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of programming experience in Python, with a track record of building and owning production-grade distributed systems. Go is a plus.
• Proven experience architecting and scaling distributed data processing systems, not just maintaining pipelines someone else designed, but making the core design decisions yourself.
• Deep hands-on experience with the AWS Big Data stack (Kinesis, EMR, Lambda, etc.) in high-throughput, transaction- or event-scale environments, think fintech, payments, e-commerce, ad-tech, or gaming, where real-time or near-real-time data volume is core to the business.
• Strong experience managing and operating TrinoDB/PrestoDB clusters in production.
• Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and PySpark, comfortable owning the infrastructure these run on, not just deploying to it.
• Rock-solid knowledge of databases and SQL, including performance tuning at scale.
• Databricks experience is a strong plus.
• A track record of mentoring and coaching engineers. This role expects you to actively raise the technical bar of the team.
• Engagement with the open source community (raising issues, contributing PRs, participating in technical discussions) is a strong extra, it signals the kind of depth we're looking for.
• Comfortable operating with significant ownership and ambiguity, and making sound architectural calls without needing everything spelled out.
