Position Summary

A Brief Overview

Supports and advances Business Analytics strategies that meet organizational fiscal management, reporting, governance, and operational performance goals. This role works across multiple business, analytic, technical, and market segments to articulate data-driven management strategies, improve reporting consistency, and ensure analytic solutions are accurate, well-documented, and aligned with business priorities.

The position serves as a key bridge between business stakeholders, analytics teams, IT partners, data stewards, and cloud platform teams. The Senior Data Advisor leads complex analytics initiatives, supports data governance and reporting quality practices, manages cross-functional project delivery, and helps ensure business decisions are supported by reliable data, consistent definitions, strong documentation, and actionable insights.

What You Will Do

  • Manages projects, programs, or processes including requirements gathering, analytics delivery, reporting initiatives, data governance activities, documentation efforts, workflow monitoring, and cross-functional business initiatives.
  • Develops actionable insights derived from project management tools, data analyses, reporting outputs, and stakeholder feedback to drive improvements.
  • Analyzes, researches, and articulates strategic analytic initiatives related to business performance, reporting accuracy, operational effectiveness, financial performance, data quality, and data governance to support organizational goals.
  • Models and analyzes various scenarios for specific business segments, reporting populations, and analytic use cases, while understanding and anticipating evolving business needs, data impacts, reporting implications, and potential operational and financial outcomes.
  • Collaborates with internal partners to address opportunities and issues related to reporting quality, data definitions, business logic, analytic workflows, operational performance, and governed data usage.
  • Leads or supports data governance, data quality, and stewardship practices by helping establish consistent business definitions, reporting logic, data dictionaries, metadata documentation, process standards, and repeatable analytic practices.
  • Supports cloud analytics oversight and modernization activities, including responsible use of cloud analytic resources, query and workload awareness, migration support, reporting transition efforts, and alignment with emerging platform capabilities.
  • Coaches and trains junior colleagues while providing guidance, work direction, and subject matter expertise across analytics initiatives, documentation standards, stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, SQL-based analysis, analytic quality assurance, and project delivery practices.



Required Qualifications

  • Adept at execution and delivery, including planning, delivering, supporting, and monitoring analytics, reporting, governance, and business process initiatives.
  • Adept at business intelligence, including the ability to understand reporting workflows, dashboards, DataMarts, SQL-based analytics, data structures, business rules, and analytic outputs.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, data stewardship, business rules, reporting logic, requirements gathering, documentation, and analytic validation practices.
  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork, including the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, analytics teams, IT partners, data engineering teams, cloud platform teams, and leadership audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives, timelines, risks, dependencies, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Mastery of problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to evaluate complex data, identify reporting or process gaps, assess quality risks, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Mastery of growth mindset, including agility, continuous improvement, developing yourself and others, coaching analysts, promoting best practices, and supporting organizational capability building.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting analytics, reporting, data governance, business analysis, project management, financial analysis, or related business intelligence functions.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to translate business needs into analytic, reporting, governance, or technical deliverables.  Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and communicate complex analytic concepts in a clear, practical, and business-oriented manner.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, payer, pharmacy benefit management, government programs, regulated reporting, utilization, financial analytics, or related business intelligence environments.
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Google Cloud Platform and associated tools.
  • Experience with SQL, enterprise reporting platforms, Tableau, dashboards, DataMarts, recurring reporting processes, or analytic delivery environments.
  • Experience developing or maintaining data dictionaries, metadata documentation, reporting inventories, business logic definitions, governance documentation, or process documentation.
  • Experience supporting high-visibility initiatives such as RFP responses, executive reporting, client-facing analytics, regulatory reporting, performance guarantee analysis, or strategic business requests.
  • Experience mentoring analysts, business analysts, reporting analysts, analytics consultants, or project team members.
  • Familiarity with cloud analytics environments, query optimization, analytic workload management, reporting infrastructure governance, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, project management, or data governance practices.



Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent specialized training, relevant professional qualification, or comparable professional experience in business analytics, data governance, reporting, healthcare analytics, financial analytics, project management, or a related discipline.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $165,954.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
