Our engineering team builds the checkout systems, upsell flows, and funnel logic that convert traffic into revenue. THE ROLE

This is the senior technical leadership role for our Checkout Champ and Shopify funnel stack. You'll own the architecture end-to-end — from spec to production deploy — across three growing consumer brands, with more launches planned. You'll lead all complex builds, mentor a junior developer, and have final say on QA and production releases. If you want to own outcomes rather than wait for direction, this is the seat.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Checkout Champ:

• End-to-end Checkout Champ funnel architecture and strategy
• Custom subscription flows and complex rebill logic
• Building and configuring upsell/downsell sequences, order bumps, and post-purchase flows at a strategic level
• Payment gateway configuration and advanced troubleshooting
• Final QA sign-off and production deploys

Shopify:

• Full ownership of Shopify theme architecture, Liquid development, and storefront customization across all brands
• Leading API integration work between platforms — from spec through deployment
• Resolving complex display/functional issues across storefronts
• Overseeing third-party app configuration and integration strategy

Tracking & Performance:

• Owning pixel and tracking architecture — Meta, Google, native platform events
• Diagnosing and resolving tracking discrepancies at the source
• Translating checkout flow changes into measurable conversion impact, working closely with media buying

Team Leadership:

• Directing and mentoring a Junior Checkout Champ Developer — assigning scoped tasks, reviewing work, and developing their path to ownership
• Setting technical standards, documentation practices, and code review processes
• Reviewing Checkout Champ and Shopify release notes and assessing impact across the stack

Requirements

WHO YOU ARE

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Checkout Champ, including ownership of multiple live, high-traffic funnels
• Advanced Shopify expertise — Liquid, theme architecture, storefront customization, app ecosystem
• Strong JavaScript and front-end development skills (HTML, CSS)
• Proven experience designing subscription/rebill logic and complex payment gateway configurations
• Track record of API integration work from spec to deployment
• Deep understanding of conversion funnels and how technical decisions move CRO/AOV metrics
• Experience mentoring or leading junior developers
• Excellent written communication — async-first, remote team, clarity is non-negotiable

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENT

Portfolio is mandatory. Applications without Checkout Champ and Shopify project examples will not be reviewed. We're looking for:

• Multiple Checkout Champ funnels you've architected end-to-end — screenshots, Loom walkthroughs, or live links
• Shopify projects demonstrating advanced theme/Liquid work
• Examples of API integrations you've led from spec to deployment

STRONG PLUS

• Experience with post-purchase upsell apps
• Deep familiarity with subscription platforms
• Direct experience working alongside media buying teams
• Formal CRO methodology experience
• Experience hiring or onboarding technical talent
