Senior Business Analyst

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced and strategic-thinking Senior Business Analyst to lead requirements analysis, process improvement, and solution alignment across business and technology initiatives. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor to stakeholders, shaping business solutions that deliver measurable value. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will lead discovery efforts, define complex business needs, and ensure clear communication between stakeholders and technical teams. You’ll take ownership of your workstreams, mentor junior analysts, and help drive initiatives that support digital transformation and strategic business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the elicitation, documentation, and analysis of complex business, functional, and system requirements.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, and cross-functional meetings to define business needs and priorities.
• Conduct detailed gap, impact, and process analyses to inform solution design.
• Translate requirements into user stories, process flows, wireframes, and decision models that support development and implementation.
• Collaborate with product owners, project managers, developers, and QA teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, proposing enhancements, and developing process documentation.
• Support organizational change management by defining communication plans, user training needs, and success metrics.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of business analysis standards and best practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 years professional experience in business analysis or systems analysis roles with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
• Cybersecurity workforce certification AIM/IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, CASP+)
• Must be US Citizen
• Active Public Trust Clearance
• Proven success leading complex initiatives from discovery through delivery.
• Deep understanding of business analysis frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong documentation skills, including experience writing BRDs, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Proficiency with collaboration and analysis tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
• Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent).
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid Agile environments.
• Familiarity with SQL or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data analysis.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, or workflow platforms.
• Exposure to change management, user adoption strategies, or organizational transformation projects.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
