We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Asset Manager to join our corporate team. This is a newly added position due to growth.  A remote US-based position, the qualified candidate can be based anywhere in the continental US, close to a major US airport. 

 

Job Summary

 

Under the direction of the Director of Asset Management, the Senior Asset Manager will perform financial analysis to support new business development, asset management, strategic planning, labor modeling, budgeting, and investment decision making.  This opportunity entails being responsible for providing asset management support to the Director of Asset Management, with a focus on budgets, profitability, earnings variances, cash flow, and contract compliance. The Asset Manager ensures success in areas such as contracting, compensation and payment terms, workplan/project management system alignment, budgets, cost controls, revenue recognition, and cash and invoice management.

 

Job Functions

  • Budgeting and P&L performance responsibility for generating assets within the KEPC portfolio.
  • Partner with, assist and advise, operating company management and commercial team to maximize the economic value of regional facilities and prevent any undue constraints or limitations on the ability of the company to conduct business successfully.
  • Perform financial analyses, project evaluations, perform due diligence and make recommendations in support of acquisitions, divestitures, recovery plans and other major projects and capital investment and revenue enhancement proposals.
  • Prepare valuation analyses, divestiture, acquisition, re-powering and other strategic alternatives to help ensure that the business plan is optimized for maximum sustainable value.
  • Perform economic research and studies as required in the areas such as depreciation, working capital requirements, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements/regulations.
  • Work closely with operations, treasury, tax, accounting, and commercial operations to determine appropriate modeling assumptions and structuring.
  • Gather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, future requirements, operating forecasts, etc.
  • Other tasks assigned by manager including responsibility for relationship with long-term customers, partners or joint asset owners, transmission providers, etc.
  • Participate as a collaborative team member in projects, assigned by the Director of Asset Management, that may require co-ordination with various functions across other Projects.

 

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

 

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics or statistics.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • More than 10 years’ work experience in power generation or experience in other energy industries
  • Must have experience with a variety of conventional power plant technologies.  

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

 

  • Expert in Excel modeler utilizing macros, pivot tables and other higher-level capabilities of the application and proficient in PowerPoint, Word and other Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in a variety of the financial analysis concepts, methods, practices, and procedures
  • Can-do attitude and ability to work on multiple projects with a diverse group of people and departments
  • Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative in gathering and documenting all inputs required for analyses
  • Ability to manage lots of detailed data but present the results clearly and concisely
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to understand business issues quickly
  • Ability to work well with outside customers/consultants to achieve organizational goals

 

Work Environment - Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

 

  • This job operates in a clerical, home based office setting. 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones etc.
  • Ability to work after hours on occasion as business needs dictate.
