Seasonal Virtual Esports Coach 2026-27 - Independent Contractor

Fenworks is actively seeking candidates to serve as a Minecraft coach for students participating in the upcoming 2026-27 Esports Season. Prospective applicants should have weekday availability for coaching sessions from 4 pm to 9 pm CST. Coaching would take place October 2026 – February/March 2027. Coaches will collaborate with individual students and teams to foster growth and engagement, tailoring coaching sessions to meet each school or team's specific needs and preferences. Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour long coaching session. Depends on experience 

Game Titles: Mario Kart 8, Minecraft, Chess, Valorant, Fortnite (box fights), and Overwatch.

Tasks and Responsibilities  

·         Serve as an expert in your game title

·         Use independent judgement to curate activities and other materials to be used within individual coaching sessions

·         Lead teams through scheduled practice sessions

·         Assist in moderating the Fenworks ecosystem for school-aged participants

·         Attend training as needed

Preferred Experience and Skills

·         Prior coaching experience

·         Experience working with kids

·         Thorough understanding of Discord

·         Ranking amongst the top 20% of players in the specified game title

Preferred Traits

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

·         Ability to learn and navigate new software

·         Ability to curate lesson plans/activities for scheduled coaching appointments based upon the individual needs of that school/team

·         Strong interpersonal communication skills
