Position Summary
The Parallax Advanced Research Mission is to deliver innovative research and provide technology, human and business solutions via The Science of Intelligent Teaming™ for government, industry and academic clients with critical challenges.
The SCIF Project Analyst supports this mission by supporting the entire project team to complete the project within its planned scope, schedule and budget, while serving as liaison for the project’s technical, functional and non-functional teams. Working with the Project Manager, Senior Project Analyst, and applicable stakeholders, the SCIF Project Analyst will perform and provide project analysis and support to the project team and leadership.
Supporting the project finance team, the SCIF Project Analyst provides financial tracking, reporting, data analysis, and compliance support for government contracts. Verifying accurate project financial information and assisting with budgets, forecasts and tracking, the role focuses on Deltek Costpoint entry and Microsoft Excel tracking of SCIF specific projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Support tracking of project budgets, funding, labor, expenditures, commitments, and forecasts.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, project reviews, and variance analysis.
- Maintain and reconcile project financial data within Deltek and other financial systems.
- Prepare and customize reports or models to support project and financial reporting.
- Validate financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Assist with identifying and resolving budget, cost, and data discrepancies.
- Support compliance with government contract requirements, internal financial controls, and established project procedures.
- Maintain project documentation and support audit readiness.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Controllers, Finance, Contracts, and Pricing teams.
- Follow all applicable SCIF, security, and classified-information handling requirements.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Project Management, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in project finance, financial analysis, accounting, or government contracting preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Basic understanding of project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a SCIF/classified environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Project Management Certification
- Hands-on Deltek experience, preferably Costpoint
- Ability to obtain or maintain the security clearance required for the program
