The Rigger is responsible for the safe lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy materials and structural components on construction sites. This includes inspecting rigging gear, performing load calculations, and coordinating with crane operators to ensure OSHA compliance.
This is a remote position.
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Rigger to join our dynamic construction team. As a Rigger, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient lifting, moving, and positioning of heavy materials, equipment, and structural components on construction sites. This position demands precision, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety protocols in high-pressure environments. The Rigger ensures that all rigging operations comply with OSHA standards, manufacturer guidelines, and project specifications, contributing directly to project timelines, structural integrity, and site safety. Your expertise in load calculations, equipment inspection, and team coordination will be instrumental in supporting large-scale infrastructure and building projects. This role is essential to the success of complex lifting operations and requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with proven experience in industrial rigging.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect and test rigging equipment (slings, chains, hooks, cables, shackles) for wear, damage, or defects prior to use.
- Select appropriate rigging hardware and techniques based on load weight, shape, center of gravity, and lifting method.
- Perform accurate load calculations and determine safe working load limits (SWL) for all rigging setups.
- Securely attach and balance loads using proper rigging techniques, including the use of spreader bars, lifting beams, and specialized slings.
- Collaborate with crane operators, signal persons, and supervisors to coordinate lifting operations safely and efficiently.
- Interpret blueprints, load charts, and engineering specifications to plan rigging strategies.
