Remote Elixir/Phoenix Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a developer experienced with Elixir, Phoenix, and LiveView to join our growing team. You'll work with our existing technology team to build a platform that is forever changing the way people buy from dealerships. Joydrive web developers are able to build high-quality, test-driven web applications.

Job Duties

As a Joydrive developer, you will work remotely on a distributed team to develop Elixir applications. You will be expected to work in a US timezone and with a team oriented mindset. The daily workflow of Joydrive developers involves the use of remote tools such as Slack, Trello, and GitHub, to manage code development and quality. Joydrive developers are not expected to be experts in, but familiar with, other web based technologies including Git, JavaScript, Postgres, Redis, Bash, IDEs, and database tools.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView and experience in general backend development
• Experience with Postgres/SQL
• Experience using Git and GitHub as part of a workflow
• Experience in test-driven development and writing tests
• Experience with Deployment systems and containers
• Experience with Dialyzer and typing
• Experience with Telemetry (OpenTelemetry and DataDog preferred)

Skills

• Ability to develop code both independently and in a pairing environment
• Experience working with an agile development process and a design sprint approach
• Experience working on a distributed team (or experience working remotely)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Desire and passion to change a decades-old industry

Requirements

All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification upon hire. Joydrive is a drug-free company. Applicant will be required to complete and pass a drug screen.

Compensation and Benefits

This position will be full time, exempt, and remote-based (you may work from anywhere in the United States). We offer a competitive salary, a 9/80 work schedule, and excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and vision. The target salary range for this position is $110,000 - $165,000 depending on previous experience. The full salary range is $100,000 - $175,000.
