As a Regional Recruitment Manager, India, this is what you’ll be doing:
We are looking for a dynamic, independent and target-driven Regional Recruitment Manager to represent and promote our client’s brand – Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), developing partner networks, supporting alumni and driving international student recruitment. This role will deliver recruitment, conversion, marketing, and sales activity across key recruitment markets across India, and South Asia Region to support VCU’s international engagement and student recruitment goals.

Role responsibilities:
- Serve as the VCU representative for international student enrolment in the region, with awareness of opportunities and potential challenges/threats within the region
- Establish a network of relationships to effectively support and maximize regional recruitment to meet VCU international student enrolment goals
- Increase leads and international student applications through the development of proactive recruitment activities and engagement, including and not limited to information sessions, webinars.
- Responsible for meeting application and enrollment goals
- Effectively manage all event logistics, communications, and support partners / vendors relationships, in collaboration with VCU team
- Ensure that all regional recruitment activities are aligned with best practices in enrolment management and recruitment of QS & VCU
- Regular communication with VCU team to ensure activities are aligned with institutional and enrolment goals
- Report regularly on outcomes of all activities related to the role and responsibilities, including relevant metrics and accurate data
- The candidate may perform other related duties as assigned.
- The position is preferable to be based in Bangalore, India and requires significant travel throughout the country, typically up to 40%, with flexibility as needed. The role also required occasional support for virtual events outside of standard working hours. From time to time, the successful candidate may be required to travel to other South Asian markets to support the university’s regional recruitment.
The candidate will engage in the following job relevant responsibilities including:
- Recruitment: representing the university at recruitment events (fairs, school visits, webinars, open days and counsellor events), communicating with prospective students, providing academic program information
- Partner Management: build visibility and trust with authorized in-region recruitment partners, delivering training and brand education to enable partners to recruit international students to VCU, while ensuring the quality and credibility of application is met.
- Partner Development: Identify and cultivate strong relationships with international schools, local universities, and other feeder institutions.
- Partnership team support: working closely with the in-country Partnership team, fostering relationships with partner institutions, and supporting partnership initiatives that contribute to student recruitment outcomes.
- Application support: providing information to prospective students on the application process, including application deadlines, application requirements, procedures for submission etc.
- Alumni engagement: hosting alumni events to engage alumni
- Data collection: the candidate will be expected to document all leads and related activities in a consistent manner as required
Key skills and experience:
Essential Criteria
- Educated to first degree level and experience working in the higher education industry. Study abroad experience in the US will be valuable.
- Advanced-level English language skills.
- Ability to travel across India & international whenever required
- Highly refined business presentation and reporting skills in English.
- High level of enthusiasm, self-motivation, and integrity to undertake lengthy periods of travel without supervision
- Problem solving and organizational skills to deal with complex and difficult situations autonomously as they arise
- A high level of literacy and attention to detail to produce clear, concise reports and strategies
- High level of numeracy and prior experience of managing budgets and analyzing basic statistical information
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills to deal with a wide range of contacts, both internally and externally at all levels
- Experience of international conversion activity.
- A history of working with educational agencies in the India & South Asia Region.
- Experience working with international students and higher education programmes.
- Experience selling a complex and diversified education product portfolio.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Experience with customer service.
- Demonstrable ability to meet enrolment targets.
Highly Desirable Criteria
- Experience collaborating interdepartmentally and/or externally.
- Experience of effectively using CRM and data management tools, virtual engagement platforms, and productivity tools.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office.
- Experience liaising with a geographically and culturally diverse team.
- An awareness of issues in marketing educational services in an international context.
- Sensitive to intellectual property and data protection.
