About the role:

We're looking for a mid-level  Quality Assurance  Engineer to join the team responsible for our identity document scanning and verification SDK. The SDK powers identity verification experiences across Android, iOS, and Web applications, including cross-platform frameworks (e.g.  React Native and Flutter). It is available as both cloud and self-hosted solutions and is used by customers worldwide.

In this role, you'll work alongside experienced QA engineers that continuously help ensure the SDK performs reliably across different platforms, devices, and real-world conditions. You'll validate new features, discover and investigate edge cases, and verify that each release delivers a consistent experience across environments. Given the variety of the long tail of exceptions rooted in the global business of Microblink, testing will require a good amount of creativity and savvy usage of the modern AI tools, and an acquired taste for automation and scalability of testing processes.

What you'll be working on:

You'll spend most of your time validating SDK integrations across Android, iOS and Web platforms using internally developed test applications.

Rather than testing a single application, you'll be validating how our SDK behaves when integrated into applications across different platforms, devices and operating systems.

Your day-to-day work will include exploring scenarios such as:

  • Various types of identity documents, including passports, ID cards and driver's licenses.
  • Different devices and operating system versions.
  • Desktop and mobile browsers.
  • Varying lighting conditions and camera quality.
  • SDK behaviour across Android, iOS, Web and cross-platform integrations.
  • Edge cases that could impact user experience or document recognition quality.

Testing at Microblink goes beyond validating expected behavior. You'll contribute throughout the development lifecycle by planning test activities, designing meaningful test scenarios, building and maintaining test datasets, and continuously improving product quality. The constant pursue for excellence and efficiency will drive your work to continuously challenge the status-quo, use state of the art technologies, and learn how to creatively combine modern AI tools and automation to improve the scalability of the release process.

Working closely with Core and Mobile Engineering teams, you'll help define testing strategies for new features, identify risks early, and ensure every SDK release meets the high quality standards required for a product trusted by organizations around the world.

What you'll do:

  • Test our SDK integrated into Android, iOS and Web applications.
  • Plan and execute functional, regression and integration testing.
  • Create and maintain test plans, test cases and regression test suites.
  • Build and maintain test datasets for different testing scenarios.
  • Investigate, reproduce and analyze reported issues.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to identify root causes and verify fixes.
  • Provide feedback on feature quality throughout development and help drive release readiness.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes and product quality.
  • Gradually get involved in test automation using Playwright and Appium with TypeScript.
  • Contribute to improve the efficiency and automation of the testing processes in place
  • Interact with colleagues and SDK developers to improve the quality of the delivered SDK

What we're looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience in software testing, with a solid understanding of QA principles and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience testing mobile applications, SDKs, or other technically complex software products.
  • Familiarity with Android, iOS, and Web platforms, including testing across desktop and mobile browsers.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a structured and detail-oriented approach to testing.
  • A natural curiosity for investigating issues, identifying root causes, and uncovering edge cases.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional development teams.

Nice to have:

  • Practical knowledge of mobile and web development tools, including Xcode, Android Studio, or VS Code.
  • Experience using Docker to run self-hosted services and Postman for API testing.
  • Background in validating SDKs or other complex software built for external integration.
  • Experience with Git version control and modern team development practices.
  • A proactive interest in mastering automation frameworks like Appium or Playwright using TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based testing infrastructure, such as BrowserStack, for multi-device verification.
  • Basic grasp of CI/CD concepts and how they support reliable product delivery.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks, with a focus on Kanban-style workflows.
