What you will do:
Reporting to the Director, Public Relations & Content Marketing, you'll be responsible for developing and executing public relations and content strategies with a focus on the Canadian market. This includes researching and writing content for the Zoocasa Market Insights blog and working with our media partners to grow our brand presence online across Canada and the United States. You’ll also have the opportunity to share your expertise and mentor junior team members. This position is perfect if you are interested in experimentation, fascinated by real estate, and enjoy producing compelling online experiences.
How you will make an impact:
- Strong written and oral communication is an essential part of this role.
- Craft a range of content including data-driven blog articles, website copy, pitches, newsletter copy, and more.
- Hands-on work collecting, analyzing, and verifying Canadian and U.S. real estate market data for the internal team and consumers.
- Assist junior team members in defining and executing the methodology of data-driven articles.
- Provide editorial support including fact-checking, correcting spelling and grammatical errors, and ensuring all content reflects Zoocasa’s brand voice.
- Research industry trends to assist in the development of comprehensive PR and content strategies aligned with overall business goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists across Canada and the U.S.
- Compile media lists and assist with editorial planning as needed.
- Write and distribute pitches that are informative and engaging.
- Respond to media inquiries in a timely manner.
- Translate complex, data-driven content into clear media briefs and collaborate one-on-one with spokespeople to prepare them for media opportunities.
- Track and analyze metrics related to PR and content to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Leverage AI and infographics to provide compelling imagery and data to accompany the written content.
- Keep on top of news and industry trends and adapt content and PR strategies based on changes in the market.
How you will grab our attention:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in content marketing, media/public relations, and/or journalism.
- Media Relations: Strong familiarity with the Canadian media landscape, including key national, regional, and trade publications, with proven experience pitching stories to Canadian media outlets.
- Design: Experience communicating data through visualizations (e.g. tables, graphs, infographics, etc.) and hands-on knowledge of design tools such as Figma and Canva.
- Written communication: Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to tell a clear, compelling story from start to finish using concise, impactful language.
- Quality control: You self-edit and submit only your best work.
- Proactive: You are never idle and love being busy.
- Skills: You are willing to learn and grow beyond your primary functions to develop new skills.
- Resourceful: You don't have all the answers but you know how to get them. You enjoy and excel at learning and performing research independently.
