Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated psychotherapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health issues and be skilled in providing therapeutic support to individuals facing various challenges. This practice serves individuals through private pay as well as insurance; some therapists accept couples and/or youth as clients at their discretion.
Embrace Psychotherapy supports therapists in earning their hours towards their LCSW or LMHC. We will provide you with a caseload of clients and you can also bring your own. Seeking an ambitious psychotherapist to become a part of a growing private practice that serves the NY metropolitan area and Long Island.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for clients, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on thorough assessments of clients' mental health status.
- Utilize crisis management techniques to support clients in distressing situations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for clients, including social workers and medical professionals.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- This is a holistic practice, and the clinician should be committed to promoting wellness and a healthy lifestyle.
Experience
- Use of / education in CBT and DBT practices, as well as knowledge of motivational interviewing and human development therapies.
- Experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting is highly desirable.
- Spanish Language proficiency highly desirable.
- Proficiency through experience or training in medical documentation practices.
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
- LCSW or LMHC; LMSW or MHC-LP (limited permit, pursuing licensure).
