The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for individuals with diverse mental health needs. They will also collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement person-centered recovery plans while ensuring all clinical practices meet regulatory standards.
Job Details: Job Location: 7308 Alma Drive - Plano, TX, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Graduate Degree, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric care to individuals receiving services with a broad range of physical, mental, behavioral, and social conditions at LifePath Systems. The Psychiatrist will utilize initiative and independent judgment within their scope of practice. The Psychiatrist may consult with other specialists for specialized conditions or for counseling and may provide backup services to other Medical Staff. The Psychiatrist will perform complex psychiatric clinical work in a culturally competent, trauma-informed, person-centered method empowering individuals to guide treatment. The complex psychiatric clinical work includes evaluation of individuals, evaluation and management services, and coordination of care with other workforce members within LifePath Systems continuum of treatment programs. The Psychiatrist will complete culturally and linguistically appropriate, trauma-informed, person-centered assessments and recovery plans to determine the diagnosis and, if applicable, prescribing of psychotropic medications. This position is responsible for ensuring proper laboratory tests and screenings are ordered and evaluating all results prior to prescribing and/or renewing psychotropic medications. This position will participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings regarding referrals, death reviews, and assistance in developing the person-centered recovery plan. The Psychiatrist will ensure that all clinical practices are completed in accordance with their scope of practice as recognized by the Texas Medical Board.

Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification)
Medical Doctorate Degree or equivalent from an accredited medical school.
Current licensure from the Texas Board of Medical Examiners that is in good standing.
Must have a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate.
Unrestricted eligibility to participate in network for Medicare/Medicaid/Other third-party payers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of best practices in diagnosing, treating, and evaluating progress of individuals with serious mental illness (SMI).
Ability and skill in collaborating with individuals with special clinical needs.
Ability to collaborate and problem solve within a cross functional environment.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and person-centered recovery.
Clear, trauma-informed communication skills, both oral and written.
Knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in multicultural and diverse situations.
Knowledge of the social services system and the ability to connect individuals with appropriate care.
Ability to inspire an environment that provides compassionate care to individuals with SMI while maintaining confidentiality, respect, and dignity of each individual irrespective of their cultural background and severity of psychopathology.
Knowledge of and strong sills, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software; and
Ability to accurately and concisely document information using an electronic health record (EHR).
