The role involves owning the end-to-end functional workstream for Oracle Project Accounting within Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, including configuration, design, and testing. The lead will also manage integrations, support quarterly Oracle releases, and provide functional leadership to team members.

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Project Accounting / Oracle Project Financials Functional Lead to own the Project Accounting (PRJ/PPM) workstream within Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. This role will be responsible for end-to-end functional ownership of Project Accounting, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, integrations, testing, deployment, production support, and quarterly Oracle release assessments.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle Project Financials/PPM and a solid understanding of project costing, project billing, revenue recognition, accounting flows, and integration with General Ledger, Procurement, and other Oracle Cloud modules.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Oracle Project Accounting / Project Financials.
Perform fit-gap analysis between business requirements and the existing Oracle Projects/PPM configuration.
Own functional solution design, including process flows, configuration workbooks, and functional specifications.
Configure Oracle Project Accounting and develop proof-of-concepts for complex project costing, billing, and revenue recognition scenarios.
Design and validate accounting flows from Project Accounting into General Ledger.
Define integration requirements between Project Accounting and GL, Procurement, and other upstream/downstream applications.
Work on Chart of Accounts mapping and project-related accounting considerations, including Accounting Hub where applicable.
Prepare Functional Design Documents (FDDs), configuration documents, and other functional deliverables through stakeholder sign-off.
Guide offshore and technical resources responsible for RICE development related to Project Accounting.
Review and provide functional sign-off on RICE objects, interfaces, reports, conversions, and extensions.
Develop test scenarios and test scripts and lead SIT, UAT, regression, and functional testing for Project Accounting changes.
Track defects through resolution and coordinate with technical and business teams to resolve functional issues.
Support production deployments, cutover activities, and go-live for Project Accounting changes.
Provide post-production support, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, bug fixes, and enhancements.
Lead the quarterly Oracle Cloud release and patch assessment for Project Accounting and identify impacts to existing processes and configurations.
Evaluate new Oracle PPM features and determine their applicability to the business.
Support month-end and year-end close activities related to Projects, including project accounting reconciliation and period-close activities.
Coordinate with Oracle Support for complex product issues and service requests when required.
Work closely with the GL, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Accounting Hub, Procurement, and other functional leads to ensure end-to-end accounting integrity.
Provide functional leadership and knowledge transfer to offshore and onshore team members.
Required Experience
6+ years of experience in Oracle Project Financials, Project Accounting, or Oracle PPM.
Strong experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP. Oracle EBS Project Accounting experience is also valuable.
Experience owning Project Accounting through at least one full Oracle implementation, rollout, upgrade, or managed-services transition.
Strong hands-on knowledge of project costing, project billing, revenue recognition, and project accounting.
Experience with Oracle Project Accounting integrations with General Ledger and Procurement.
Experience with Oracle Cloud configuration and functional solution design.
Experience preparing functional design documents and configuration workbooks.
Experience working with offshore and technical teams on RICE development.
Strong understanding of accounting distributions and project-related journal flows into GL.
Experience with SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect management, deployment, and production support.
Experience assessing Oracle quarterly updates/releases and determining functional impact.
Strong experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
