Job Description

We’re seeking a Product Manager to drive strategy, standardization, and growth for our portfolio of Low Voltage (LV) switchgear and power distribution solutions, with a particular emphasis on UL891 switchboards, UL1558 metal-enclosed low-voltage power circuit breaker switchgear, and data center power infrastructure.

Reporting directly to the VP of Innovation, this role will own the product lifecycle for LV switchgear solutions—from market analysis and customer requirements through product definition, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement. This position sits at the intersection of engineering, customer needs, manufacturing, and business strategy, transforming technical requirements into scalable, standardized products that drive growth and competitive differentiation.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical understanding of LV power distribution systems, OEM breaker platforms, regulatory standards, and end-market requirements with strong product management discipline. You will help define the next generation of standardized switchgear products serving critical infrastructure markets including AI factories, hyperscale data centers, oil & gas, industrial, healthcare, utility, and commercial applications.

What You’ll Do

Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Define product vision, roadmap, and strategy for UL891 and UL1558 switchgear platforms, power distribution systems, and associated control architectures
  • Own the complete product lifecycle—from concept through commercialization, sustaining engineering, and retirement
  • Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities across data centers, AI infrastructure, utilities, industrial, and other critical power markets
  • Translate market trends and customer requirements into product strategies and roadmaps
  • Develop business cases supporting new product introductions and portfolio investments
  • Ensure alignment between product strategy, manufacturing capability, and financial objectives

Product Definition & Standardization

  • Define standardized product offerings, configurations, and architectures to improve scalability and reduce engineering complexity
  • Develop Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and technical specifications based on customer and market needs
  • Establish product standards governing ratings, configurations, accessories, and performance requirements
  • Drive modularization and standardization strategies balancing flexibility with manufacturability
  • Collaborate with Engineering to convert engineered-to-order solutions into repeatable product platforms
  • Support design decisions considering manufacturability, cost optimization, reliability, and lead time reduction

Voice of Customer & Market Engagement

  • Serve as the Voice of Customer (VOC) within the organization, translating customer feedback into actionable product improvements
  • Engage directly with customers, consulting engineers, EPCs, hyperscalers, and channel partners to understand emerging requirements
  • Develop strong understanding of customer pain points in AI and data center power infrastructure
  • Validate new concepts and product features with customers and market stakeholders
  • Support strategic customer engagements and major opportunities requiring technical product expertise

Technical Leadership & Industry Expertise

  • Maintain deep expertise in UL891, UL1558, NEC, UL, ANSI, IEEE, and related standards governing LV switchgear
  • Develop and maintain intimate knowledge of OEM breaker technologies and switchgear ecosystems, including but not limited to:
  • Understand strengths, limitations, competitive positioning, and application suitability of various OEM technologies
  • Track evolving market trends impacting AI infrastructure, power density, electrification, and data center architectures

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering to define specifications and prioritize development initiatives
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Operations to ensure products are scalable and production-ready
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies
  • Coordinate with Finance to support pricing strategies and business case development
  • Support supply chain and sourcing decisions influencing product competitiveness

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Monitor industry developments impacting switchgear, AI infrastructure, and critical power markets
  • Identify opportunities to improve product management processes, portfolio governance, and standardization practices
  • Contribute to development of templates, best practices, and product frameworks across the organization
  • Drive continuous improvement through post-launch analysis and customer feedback
