We are seeking a Product Manager to own our Clearing & Settlement product capabilities within the Issuer Processing platform. This role is responsible for defining, managing, and enhancing the financial processing functions that occur after authorization—ensuring accurate transaction clearing, settlement, reconciliation, scheme reporting, fee processing, and robust financial controls across global payment networks.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in card scheme clearing and settlement processes, understands issuer financial operations, and can translate complex scheme requirements into scalable, industry-leading product capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership
Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Clearing & Settlement.
Define product strategy aligned to customer needs, operational efficiency, scheme requirements, and business goals.
Translate market, client, and scheme requirements into product requirements and delivery priorities.
Clearing
Manage product capabilities for clearing message ingestion and processing.
Oversee presentments, reversals, adjustments, corrections, and exception handling workflows.
Support multi-currency and multi-clearing scenarios.
Ensure accurate scheme file processing and event generation.
Improve automation, transparency, and controls across clearing workflows.
Settlement
Manage issuer settlement calculations and processing, supporting multi-currency settlement and scheme settlement reporting.
Oversee accurate settlement position management, exception handling, and robust controls for accurate and auditable outcomes.
Reconciliation and Controls
Define and enhance reconciliation across clearing, settlement, and ledger flows.
Oversee exception management, break resolution, and reporting.
Ensure compliance and operational oversight within product capabilities.
Scheme and Network Alignment
Lead product requirements related to Visa Base II, Mastercard IPM, and scheme reporting.
Monitor scheme mandates, changes, and release impacts.
Drive impact analysis and manage product changes required by scheme-driven updates and integration of new networks.
Delivery & Stakeholder Management
Work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Client Delivery teams.
Write detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Support solution design, testing, implementation, and release planning.
Act as product SME for clearing and settlement internally and externally.
Drive the delivery of new payment scheme integrations and related network capabilities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Expert knowledge of card clearing and settlement processes and frameworks (Visa, Mastercard).
Understanding of settlement reporting, reconciliation, interchange, assessments, and scheme fees.
Ability to translate complex payment and scheme requirements into product and delivery plans.
Stakeholder management and strong execution skills.
Competence in payment processing fundamentals: authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation.
Interpret complex technical specifications into concise requirements and testable outcomes.
Project and program management, including dependency and risk management.
Technical fluency, comfortable collaborating with engineers on APIs, system behavior, and integrations.
Experience with SQL/data analysis is advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Technical or payments-focused background strongly preferred.
Preferred Experience
5+ years of experience in Product Management, Payments, Issuer Processing, Financial Processing, or a related domain.
Experience delivering clearing, settlement, reconciliation, or financial processing capabilities within card issuing, payment processing, banking, or fintech environments.
Proven experience with card scheme clearing and settlement frameworks, and managing scheme-mandated changes.
Collaborative experience with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and cross-functional product teams.
Strong understanding of issuer financial operations including interchange, scheme fees, multi-currency settlement, funding models, and financial controls.
