Product Development Analyst (Entry-Level)
Remote-first · Product Development & Merchandising · Full-time
About Americanflat
Americanflat makes home décor stylish, affordable, and accessible. Our curated selection helps people transform their spaces into inviting, personalized homes. As a remote-first, fast-growing company with a globally distributed team, we run on lean principles, direct communication, and collaboration, where every team member's input is valued.
About the Role
As an entry-level Product Development Analyst, you'll be the analytical engine behind what we build and sell next. You'll research market trends, dig into sales and marketplace data, and translate consumer feedback into insights that shape our product assortment. This is a data-meets-creativity role: you'll spot emerging styles, benchmark competitors, track how our SKUs perform on Amazon and beyond, and turn what you find into clear recommendations for the Product Development and Merchandising teams.
What You'll Do
Market & Trend Research
• Research emerging trends, styles, and consumer preferences in home décor
• Benchmark competitor products on features, pricing, imagery, and positioning
• Identify white-space and market-gap opportunities to inform product ideas
Data & Performance Analysis
• Analyze sales data and consumer feedback to optimize the product assortment
• Track KPIs such as sell-through rate, margin, inventory turnover, and weeks/months of cover
• Monitor SKU performance on Amazon (sales trends, pricing, listing quality) and flag best and worst performers
Reporting & Recommendations
• Build and maintain recurring reports and presentations on product performance, trends, and insights
• Recommend improvements to pricing, listings, images, promotions, and product specs (this role suggests and supports; it does not set final strategy)
• Support data entry and maintenance of the master product database
Collaboration
• Partner with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and Marketing to support data-driven decisions across the product lifecycle
What We're Looking For
• 0–2 years of experience in analytics, merchandising, e-commerce, or a related field (internships count)
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and comfort working with data
• An analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Interest in home décor, retail, or consumer products
• Clear written communication for reports and recommendations
• Bonus: familiarity with Amazon Seller/Vendor Central or marketplace data
