Manifest is building modern software for the tours and activities industry.

Our customers run real-world businesses: tours, attractions, experiences, rentals, and activities. They need software that helps them sell more, operate smoothly, and deliver great guest experiences.

The Manifest Sites project is a newer, fast-moving part of that mission. It's an AI-native website generation suite for operators in our industry, whether or not they use our booking software. The team is small, the pace is zero-to-one, and the product surface is being shaped in real time. 

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Designer who is as comfortable in a codebase as in a design file, and who is genuinely excited about building with AI. You'll own the look, feel, and interaction quality of both the websites we deliver to customers and the platform that builds them.

This is a hybrid, hands-on role. You are, first and foremost, a strong web designer, but you're comfortable enough with front-end engineering to take an idea all the way to a pull request rather than handing off a static mockup. You'll move fluidly between shaping user experiences, deciding what gets built where, and implementing UI on the front-end.

You'll also be a heavy user of AI-assisted design and build tools, and a big part of the job is exercising good judgment about how to use them: which tool is right for the task, what belongs in the platform itself, and how to route work intelligently so we build the right things at the right time.

You do not need to be a software engineer, and you won't be expected to own production back-end work. But you should be able to leverage Claude and Claude Design, read front-end code, and collaborate deeply with engineers on implementation.

What You'll Do

• Own the design quality of the customer websites we deliver, including visual design, interaction, information architecture, and overall polish
• Partner with the onboarding team to shape tailored website experiences for key customers
• Develop a deep understanding of what the platform can and can't do today, spot the gaps, and help decide what to build next
• Make smart, strategic calls about what to produce in AI tooling (e.g. Claude Design) versus what to bake into the platform as a reusable feature
• Design the UI structures and patterns the product itself needs so new features have a coherent place to live rather than feeling like they’ve been bolted on
• Implement front-end UI/UX directly so engineers (or you) can build features on a solid, well-considered foundation
• Raise the bar on quality and consistency across everything we ship, from the platform to individual customer sites
• Work closely with Engineering and Product on workflow integration, edge cases, and delivery realities

What We're Looking For

• Strong design fundamentals: visual design, interaction design, UX, and information architecture, with an eye for polish and quality
• An understanding of HTML, CSS, and component-based front-end code
• Fluency and genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted design and build workflows, especially tools like Claude Design, plus the judgment to use them strategically rather than indiscriminately
• Experience designing product UI, not just marketing pages; you understand how to structure a product so features fit and scale
• Comfort operating in a zero-to-one, startup-mode environment; ambiguity, many hats, and a bias toward shipping and iterating
• Strong collaboration instincts and clear communication with Engineering, Onboarding, and Product

Nice to Have

• A background in front-end engineering; the ability to work in HTML, CSS, and component-based front-end code, and to open and iterate on pull requests
• Experience in travel, tourism, activities, hospitality, or booking/ecommerce products
• Familiarity with website builders and CMS tooling (e.g. Webflow, Duda, WordPress) and with SEO/AEO/performance considerations (Lighthouse, structured data, Open Graph)
• Experience with or ownership of a design system
• A track record of using AI tools to accelerate design, prototyping, and delivery in a real production setting
• Comfort working across the seam between Design and Engineering, where responsibilities are highly collaborative

We believe modern design work is changing. The best designers are increasingly able to use AI, prototyping tools, and lightweight front-end implementation to move faster and communicate more clearly. You don't need to be a developer, but you should be excited to work close to the code and to build with AI as a core part of your practice.
