Position Summary
Syntax is seeking a Principal Pre-Sales Solution Architect with deep expertise in supply chain management, distribution, and warehouse management across Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Management. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines pre-sales solution architecture, strategic advisory, product management, and consulting leadership.
Reporting to the Chief Architect, this individual will serve as the lead subject matter expert for Oracle supply chain management solutions across the company. The role will also maintain a dotted-line relationship to the Global VP of Supply Chain Consulting Services and the SVP of Oracle Services, ensuring strong alignment between solution strategy, consulting delivery, and go-to-market execution.
The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of:
- hands-on practitioner experience in supply chain operations and strategy,
- hands-on leadership experience as a project lead or team lead for supply chain transformation,
- deep functional expertise in Oracle SCM, distribution, and warehouse processes,
- and the ability to shape roadmaps, implementation plans, organizational change plans, and pre-sales strategy for enterprise customers.
This role will support strategic sales pursuits, advise customers on transformation programs, contribute to consulting engagements as needed, and coordinate the product management function for both project-based services and AMS offerings related to Oracle SCM. Over time, this position may evolve into a Practice Director role with direct people leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Solution Architecture
- Serve as the lead pre-sales functional and solution architecture expert for Oracle supply chain management opportunities, with particular focus on:
- Oracle E-Business Suite SCM
- Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM
- Distribution operations
- Warehouse management and warehouse operations
- Inventory, fulfillment, logistics, and related process areas
- Lead solution design activities for strategic Oracle SCM pursuits, ensuring recommendations align with customer business objectives, operating models, and target-state architecture.
- Partner with sales, delivery, and executive leadership to shape and support strategic pursuits, RFP/proposal responses, presentations, and customer workshops.
- Lead discovery sessions with prospects and clients to understand current-state business processes, operational pain points, organizational readiness, and transformation objectives.
- Conduct fit-gap analyses to assess business requirements, process maturity, Oracle application fit, required extensions, and transformation priorities.
- Translate business priorities and operational requirements into:
- solution visions,
- target-state process designs,
- phased transformation roadmaps,
- implementation strategies,
- and advisory recommendations.
- Develop and present compelling executive-level solution narratives that connect business outcomes to Oracle application capabilities and Syntax service offerings.
- Support RFPs, proposals, estimates, assumptions, and solution positioning for strategic Oracle SCM opportunities.
Functional Leadership in Supply Chain, Distribution & WMS
- Act as the company’s principal subject matter expert for supply chain business processes across planning, execution, distribution, warehouse management, and fulfillment.
- Provide expert guidance on best practices for:
- inventory management,
- warehouse operations,
- receiving, picking, packing, and shipping,
- order fulfillment,
- distribution network processes,
- logistics coordination,
- supply chain operating models,
- and process standardization.
- Translate business process requirements into application capabilities, functional designs, and software requirements for Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM solutions.
- Help customers define future-state business models and transformation priorities grounded in real-world supply chain operating experience.

- Build strategic functional roadmaps aligned to customer business objectives, maturity, and transformation priorities.
- Develop implementation project plans that reflect practical sequencing, scope definition, dependencies, governance, and risk management.
- Create and/or guide organizational change management plans to support adoption of new supply chain processes, roles, technologies, and performance measures.
- Provide credible delivery guidance based on prior hands-on leadership in supply chain projects and global rollouts.
- Participate in and, when required, lead consulting engagements where senior functional leadership and architectural oversight are needed.
- Provide advisory leadership related to configuration strategy, solution governance, and functional design decisions across Oracle SCM implementations.
- Work with technical and integration teams to define and validate integration requirements and architecture considerations for adjacent enterprise systems, warehouse technologies, logistics platforms, reporting environments, and third-party applications.
Product Management & Offering Development
- Coordinate the product management function for Syntax offerings related to Oracle SCM across both:
- project solutions, and
- application managed services (AMS).
- Help define service offerings, delivery approaches, reusable methods, accelerators, collateral, and commercial packaging for Oracle SCM services.
- Partner with consulting leaders, product management, and executive stakeholders to align Oracle SCM offerings with Syntax strategy and market demand.
- Drive consistency of messaging, solution positioning, and offering structure across consulting and managed services.
- Contribute to roadmap planning for Oracle SCM-related service capabilities, including innovation opportunities tied to automation, analytics, and GenAI.
GenAI Enablement
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of GenAI concepts and practical applications in the Oracle SCM landscape.
- Identify and articulate how GenAI can improve outcomes across supply chain processes such as planning, operations support, user productivity, knowledge retrieval, exception management, and solution adoption.
- Preferably bring hands-on experience using GenAI with Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM or supporting adjacent business use cases involving AI-enabled process improvement.
- Help shape Syntax thought leadership and solution positioning around GenAI-enabled Oracle supply chain transformation.
Internal Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work across architecture, sales, consulting, AMS, and executive leadership teams to align strategy and execution.
- Mentor colleagues in pre-sales solutioning, business process architecture, and Oracle SCM best practices.
- Collaborate closely with Oracle services leadership and supply chain consulting leaders to ensure global alignment on capabilities, offerings, and priorities.
- Act as a senior internal advisor on deal strategy, delivery risk, transformation planning, and customer positioning.
- Represent Syntax with credibility in executive discussions, strategic workshops, and industry conversations.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in supply chain, distribution, warehouse management, and related operational functions as a practitioner, consultant, or both.
- Significant hands-on experience in supply chain operations and strategy.
- Hands-on experience serving as a project lead and/or team lead for supply chain initiatives or transformation programs.
- Deep expertise in business processes related to:
- supply chain management,
- distribution,
- warehouse management,
- inventory and fulfillment,
- logistics coordination,
- and operational process improvement.
- Strong experience with Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain Management solutions.
- Ability to translate business process needs into software requirements, functional designs, solution architectures, and transformation plans.
- Demonstrated ability to create strategic functional roadmaps, implementation project plans, and organizational change management plans.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, solution architecture, or enterprise transformation advisory activities.
- Experience leading or supporting solution design, fit-gap analysis, configuration planning, integration definition, and RFP/proposal support for Oracle SCM transformation programs.
- Proven experience completing five or more global rollouts.
- Strong executive communication, workshop facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Experience operating effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional leadership environment.
- Position is remote, with ability and willingness to travel up to 25% as required for customer engagements, workshops, internal planning sessions, and strategic pursuits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Information Systems, Operations, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
- Six Sigma certification or similar process improvement credential.
- Experience with Oracle SCM capabilities spanning areas such as Inventory Management, Order Management, Procurement, Supply Chain Planning, Warehouse Management, Logistics / Distribution processes
- Experience across both Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM transformation programs.
- Familiarity with managed services, application support models, and continuous optimization services for Oracle applications.
- Prior experience helping define service offerings, accelerators, or go-to-market motions for consulting or AMS organizations.
- Practical experience applying GenAI to Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM or adjacent enterprise business scenarios.
- Experience working with global teams and multi-region transformation programs.
- Oracle SCM implementation certifications preferred.
