Role Overview

MojoTech is seeking a Principal Consultant, Software Engineering, to establish and grow our engineering presence in Argentina. This is a unique opportunity for a senior technology leader who combines deep technical expertise with consulting excellence, team leadership, and business acumen. Demonstrated experience with AI-native software engineering practices is required for this role.

As our first senior hire in Argentina, you will play a critical role in building and scaling a high-performing engineering team while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. You will lead architecture and delivery efforts, mentor engineers, support business development activities, and help establish MojoTech as a premier consulting partner throughout the region.

Success in this role requires exceptional English communication skills, strong client-facing consulting experience, and an established professional network within Argentina's technology community.

This is a hands-on leadership role. While you will lead teams and client engagements, you will also remain close enough to the work to guide technical decisions, mentor engineers, and support successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Leadership & Team Building

• Establish and grow MojoTech's engineering presence in Argentina
• Recruit, hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technical leaders
• Leverage your professional network to help attract exceptional talent
• Create a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
• Serve as a leader and ambassador for MojoTech within the Argentinian technology community
• Develop succession plans and leadership capabilities within the local team

Client Consulting & Executive Engagement

• Serve as a trusted advisor to client executives, product leaders, and technical stakeholders
• Lead discovery workshops, technical assessments, and strategic planning sessions
• Translate business objectives into practical technology solutions
• Facilitate architecture discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Build long-term client relationships that drive successful outcomes and account growth
• Present recommendations, roadmaps, and technical strategies with confidence and clarity

Technology & Architecture Leadership

• Design and deliver scalable, maintainable systems across application, data, and AI platforms
• Lead architecture efforts for cloud-native, distributed systems
• Design solutions that incorporate APIs, data platforms, AI capabilities, and modern engineering practices
• Implement and guide teams on LLM integrations, RAG architectures, and AI-enabled applications
• Drive engineering excellence around security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions balancing business priorities and technical requirements

Delivery Leadership

• Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously
• Ensure projects remain aligned with scope, timelines, budgets, and client expectations
• Coordinate across engineering, product, design, and data disciplines
• Identify risks and proactively drive resolution
• Maintain focus on delivering measurable business outcomes and working software

Business Development & Growth

• Partner with sales and account leaders to identify and pursue new opportunities
• Contribute to proposals, statements of work, solution design, and estimates
• Support client presentations, workshops, and technical sales discussions
• Help expand existing client relationships through exceptional delivery and strategic guidance
• Contribute to the development of new service offerings and delivery capabilities

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering and architecture experience
• Significant experience leading client-facing consulting engagements
• Proven experience building, managing, and mentoring engineering teams
• Strong professional network within Argentina's technology community
• Experience recruiting and scaling technical teams
• Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills
• Experience presenting to executive and senior-level stakeholders
• Deep expertise in modern software architecture, cloud platforms, and distributed systems
• Experience with AI-enabled applications, machine learning integrations, LLMs, or RAG architectures
• AI-accelerated code reviews and debugging
• AI-assisted software design and implementation
• Agentic development workflows (parallelized coding, autonomous task execution, orchestration)
• Prompt engineering for software development and system generation
• Using AI to generate documentation, architecture artifacts, and delivery assets
• Building systems where humans remain accountable for quality and decisions
• Rapid prototyping with structured production hardening
• Strong understanding of software delivery methodologies and consulting best practices
• Ability to balance technical leadership, people leadership, and business priorities
• Must be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience helping establish or grow a regional engineering office or delivery center
• Experience working with U.S.-based clients and distributed global teams
• Experience in technology consulting firms or professional services organizations
• Familiarity with industries such as financial services, healthcare, insurance, or enterprise software

Employment Structure

We hire employees in Argentina through Deel, our Employer of Record (EOR) partner. This means Deel will serve as your legal employer for payroll and compliance purposes, while your day-to-day work, manager, career development, performance reviews, and team experience will be with MojoTech. This is a full-time employee position, not a contractor role.
