Job Description:

 

The Corporate Compliance department, located in Melbourne, FL is seeking a government compliance principal that will be responsible for oversight of all regulatory compliance requirements of L3Harris with DFARS Contractor Business Systems. Responsibilities include compiling information, preparing reports for senior leadership, reviewing data, analyzing deficiencies, and advising on various compliance requirements concerning DFARS Contractor Business Systems. This position is also responsible for enterprise policy, tools and training for business systems compliance. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Works closely with business segment compliance leads, functional departments, corporate elements (finance, program management, supply chain management, internal audit, etc.), and DFARS contractor business system owners throughout the life cycle of the business system engagement process. This also entails working with government counterparts, particularly with representatives from DCMA and DCAA.
  • Identifying, explaining, communicating and advising management on potential issues related to compliance matters with the DFARS Business Systems.
  • Preparing and submitting an array of weekly, monthly and quarterly business system reports and related information to business system owners and senior leadership.
  • Coordinating with segment compliance leads to ensure accuracy of DCMA reported information, current status of open issues, and engaging in advisory capacity to ensure consideration of any corporate impact as systems issues are worked at a segment and business unit level.  
  • Leading meetings such as communities of practice, steering committees, training sub-committees, and performing monthly liaison engagement with DCMA headquarters level representatives.
  • Coordinating corporate review of responses to DCMA/DCAA when requested or required on business systems compliance issues, usually in response to a DCAA audit, or DCMA review that has identified a material weakness.
  • Supporting business system readiness engagement, most notably for substantive audits such as major accounting system and estimating system audits conducted by DCAA.
  • Maintaining currency of corporate business systems policies, GC-51 and GC-52 and ensuring they are updated at prescribed corporate intervals.
  • Ensuring that SharePoint site is regularly updated with reliable information on system status and assigned system ownership. 
  • Ensuring the Annual Plan is completed timely, in sufficient detail and is coordinated with the Business Systems Steering Committee.
  • This position will interface with Corporate and Segment Compliance Leads, Functional Leads with business system engagement/ownership responsibilities, and Government liaison representatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 12 years of prior government compliance experience

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skill set, capable of interfacing and forming strategic business partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills (Oral, Written and Listening)
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment and be flexible to meet the needs of the customer through detail analysis or summary reporting
  • Ability to solve problems, develop and implement innovative and creative solutions to issues and situations that exist in a complex and changing environment
  • Must be self-directed, proactive and possess ability to multi-task
  • PeopleSoft, SAP and Hyperion experience are preferred, but not required

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $120,500-$223,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $105,000-$195,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
