Are you an energetic, enthusiastic, and driven educator who wants to make a real difference? Are you passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, develop strong learning habits, and achieve academic success? If so, we want YOU!

Who’s the Right Fit?

We are looking for IN-HOME and in-person Primary, Junior, and Intermediate Teachers/Tutors to support students throughout Vancouver. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable and adaptable educator who understands the British Columbia Curriculum and thrives on helping students succeed through engaging, personalized instruction.

Qualified candidates will have experience tutoring or teaching students across the Primary, Junior, and/or Intermediate divisions and be comfortable providing IN-HOME, in-person instruction, with the option to support students online as needed. Strong familiarity with the British Columbia Curriculum across core subject areas is essential.

As a Prep Academy Tutor, You Will:

  • Empower students with personalized academic support aligned with the British Columbia Curriculum across the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate divisions.
  • Tutor students across core subject areas, including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies/History and Geography, and other areas of the British Columbia Curriculum.
  • Develop customized learning plans that address each student's unique strengths, challenges, learning needs, and academic goals.
  • Help students strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills, improve confidence, and develop effective learning strategies.
  • Provide remedial support for students who need additional assistance and enrichment opportunities for those seeking additional challenges.
  • Prepare students for classroom assessments, assignments, projects, presentations, and tests.
  • Support students in developing strong study, organization, time-management, and independent learning skills.
  • Adapt instructional strategies and resources to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and areas for improvement.

We know you have options when it comes to tutoring. That's why we offer competitive compensation that reflects the value of your experience and expertise.

Flexible Hours – Create a schedule that works for you. Whether you're balancing teaching, university, graduate studies, or other commitments, you'll have the flexibility to manage your own availability.

Professional Development – Continue growing as an educator through ongoing learning opportunities and collaboration with experienced colleagues.

Supportive Team Environment – Join a community of passionate educators who share ideas, support one another, and celebrate student success.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking knowledgeable, compassionate educators who meet at least one of the following qualifications:

  • Hold current, valid registration with the BC Ministry of Education.
  • Are a certified teacher in Canada or the United States (or are in the process of becoming one).
  • Are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education program.
  • Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited Canadian or U.S. college or university.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring students at the Primary, Junior, and/or Intermediate levels.
  • Strong knowledge of the British Columbia Curriculum across multiple subject areas.
  • Ability to confidently support students across several core subjects rather than specializing in just one.
  • Experience developing individualized learning plans and providing personalized academic support.
  • Strong understanding of literacy, numeracy, study skills, and foundational academic development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to students' homes within the assigned service area.
  • A passion for helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, develop independence, and achieve their academic goals.

Ready to join a team that values your expertise, passion, and independence? If you're a versatile and dedicated educator who enjoys working with students across the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate divisions and making a lasting impact on their academic journey, we'd love to hear from you!
