OctaiPipe is on a mission to revolutionise energy optimisation in data centres through decentralised artificial intelligence. Rather than moving data from the source, OctaiPipe moves algorithms to the data - enabling learning directly at the edge through novel federated AI technology. Its flagship AI for Cooling Efficiency (ACE) application is built on OctaiPipe’s proprietary distributed AI platform.


What We Solve

Cooling is one of the biggest energy challenges in modern data centres, accounting for more than 30% of total facility energy usage. OctaiPipe’s ACE platform combines AI-driven optimisation with natural language recommendations to reduce cooling energy consumption by up to 30%, helping operators improve sustainability, efficiency, and operational performance.

Reducing cooling energy usage at this scale can lower overall data centre energy consumption by at least 10%. If adopted across all UK or US data centres today, this level of efficiency could effectively double global data centre capacity - without building a single new facility.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a hands-on Pre-Sales Engineer who can bridge AI, infrastructure, and customer environments - someone equally comfortable whiteboarding solutions with customers as they are working in Python to get a model running.

This is not a traditional pre-sales role. You’ll work directly within customer environments at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and energy optimisation.


This role suits someone who:

  • Has experience in pre-sales / sales engineering within enterprise SaaS, infrastructure, or energy systems
  • Understands data centre environments - cooling, power, DCIM, BMS, or building systems
  • Can translate complex AI/ML concepts into clear business value and ROI
  • Is comfortable being hands-on throughout the sales cycle - from demo through to proof of concept and deployment
  • Enjoys fast-moving, ambiguous environments where products evolve quickly
  • Takes ownership of the technical win, not just supporting the sales process

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to machine learning, reinforcement learning, or edge AI
  • Experience with industrial systems, energy optimisation, or digital twins


What You’ll Do

  • Partner closely with Sales to own the technical side of deals from qualification through to technical win
  • Run discovery sessions to understand customer infrastructure, constraints, and optimisation opportunities
  • Design and deliver demos, simulations, and proof of concepts using OctaiPipe’s AI platform
  • Work hands-on in Python environments to configure, train, and calibrate models during PoCs and deployments
  • Translate technical outputs into clear commercial outcomes including energy savings and ROI
  • Support early-stage deployments across edge systems, cloud, and on-prem infrastructure
  • Act as a bridge between customers and R&D, feeding back real-world insights into the product
  • Build relationships with technical and operational stakeholders to create internal champions
  • Represent OctaiPipe at customer meetings, partner engagements, and industry events across APAC
  • Develop deep expertise in AI-driven cooling optimisation, data centre systems, and the competitive landscape



Required Experience

  • 3+ years in a pre-sales, sales engineering, or technical customer-facing role
  • Experience in one or more of: data centres, BMS/DCIM systems, energy optimisation, or infrastructure platforms
  • Comfortable working hands-on with Python (e.g. notebooks, scripts) in applied environments
  • Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience supporting PoCs, pilots, or early-stage deployments in customer environments



Technical familiarity with some of the following:

  • Machine learning or AI-based systems (e.g. RL, optimisation, edge AI)
  • Linux environments
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Containers / Docker
  • Data visualisation tools such as Grafana
  • JSON / YAML

  • You help shape how OctaiPipe’s product is deployed and positioned in real-world environments
