The pharmacist is responsible for verifying, dispensing, and monitoring medication therapy while providing drug information across hospital facilities. They also supervise support personnel and ensure compliance with pharmacy policies and regulatory standards.
Overview: Responsible for verification, dispensing and monitoring medication therapy, and providing drug information for multiple hospital facilities. Other duties include supervising and directing support personnel, adverse event monitoring, participating in medication use performance improvement activities, and serving as a resource for pharmacy policies and procedures and regulatory compliance. Remote order entry pharmacists may be asked to serve as the Pharmacist in Charge for out of state pharmacist licenses and must maintain licensure in multiple states simultaneously according to remote facility location and state pharmacy regulations.
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a School or College of Pharmacy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
Licensure: Requires a current pharmacist license from the state of Illinois. New Mexico license required within 90 days of hire.
Work Shift: 7 on/7 off Overnights
Experience: Health-system pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.
