Support Recovery. Stay Connected. Make a Difference.

At Lives Lived Well, we believe recovery is possible.

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Peer Worker to join our newly funded Tokoko Integrated Recovery Pathways Program.

Drawing on your lived or living experience of recovery, you will provide flexible digital peer support to people engaging with alcohol and other drug treatment and recovery services. Through ConnectWell, you will help individuals stay connected, build confidence and access support when and where they need it most.

About the Role

As the ConnectWell Peer Worker, you will play an important role in supporting people throughout their recovery journey through digital engagement and peer support.

Working as part of the broader Tokoko Integrated Recovery Pathways team, you will provide recovery check-ins, encouragement and practical support to individuals preparing for treatment, participating in treatment or transitioning back into the community following residential rehabilitation.

Using your lived experience appropriately, you will help individuals remain engaged in recovery, strengthen social connection and access the supports they need to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide recovery-focused peer support through ConnectWell's digital platform.
  • Share lived experience appropriately to promote hope, resilience and recovery.
  • Support individuals before, during and after residential rehabilitation.
  • Conduct wellbeing and recovery check-ins to strengthen engagement and continuity of care.
  • Support people to access treatment, recovery, health and community services.
  • Encourage individuals to maintain recovery goals and engage with support networks.
  • Assist with re-engagement of people who may be disengaging from treatment or recovery supports.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, peer workers and program staff to support coordinated care.
  • Contribute to service improvement and client engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting requirements.

This role can be undertaken remotely, in a hybrid arrangement or from a Lives Lived Well office location, subject to operational requirements.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Lived or living experience of recovery from alcohol and other drug challenges and a willingness to use that experience to support others.
  • A strong commitment to recovery-oriented practice and peer work principles.
  • Experience supporting people in a peer, community services, mental health or alcohol and other drug setting is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive and respectful relationships in a virtual environment.
  • Understanding of the barriers people may experience when accessing treatment and recovery supports.
  • Confidence using technology and digital communication platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Current Australian Driver Licence.

Formal qualifications are not essential; however, qualifications in Peer Work, Community Services, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, or a related field will be highly regarded.
