Payroll Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for our remote workforce. This role requires precision, confidentiality, and a thorough understanding of South African payroll legislation and tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees
• Calculate and reconcile salaries, overtime, leave pay, bonuses, and deductions
• Ensure compliance with PAYE, UIF, SDL, and other statutory obligations
• Prepare and submit EMP201, EMP501, and IRP5 returns via SARS eFiling
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee remuneration data
• Resolve payroll queries from employees and management promptly
• Liaise with HR and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment

Qualifications and Experience

• 3+ years of experience in payroll administration or a similar role
• Proficiency in payroll software (Sage Payroll, PaySpace, VIP, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and SARS requirements
• High attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data
• Ability to handle sensitive payroll information with strict confidentiality
• Good Excel skills for payroll reconciliations and reporting
• Organised and able to meet strict payroll deadlines independently
• Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, or Payroll Administration preferred

Salary: R32,000/month | 100% Remote
