Part-Time Construction Inspector 

Remote - Central / South Florida

The successful applicant will join a highly motivated conservation team dedicated toward accomplishing Ducks Unlimited’s (DU) mission. Applicant will assist a regional team deliver wetland, riparian, and associated habitat restoration projects in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

The successful applicant will: (1) serve as DU’s representative on construction projects, while performing a variety of inspections to verify contractor’s compliance with plans, specifications, and standards; (2) prepare inspection reports and maintain project records; (3) be responsible for the operation of various surveying equipment to assist with construction surveys; (4) assist Regional Engineer(s) and other Technician(s) with a variety of administrative duties. 

The position is remote but the successful applicant must be based out of Central to South Florida.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of methods and techniques of project administration, construction inspection and materials testing.
• Knowledge in heavy construction work methods, practices, materials and equipment. (10 years minimum experience the construction field required). 
• Experience and knowledge in construction surveying techniques, including GPS and the ability to assist in both design and construction surveys. 
• Demonstrated ability to work with public and private conservation partners.
• Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to operate ATV and outboard boats in various environments.
• Self-motivated and goal oriented.
• Willingness to work outside of normal business hours, willingness to work independently, willingness to travel out of town and overnight on a regular basis, ability to work in inclement weather, and ability to work with minimal supervision in remote work environments.
