Part-Time Commodity Market Economist

Spotlock is building an AI-driven platform that helps companies understand and manage their exposure to commodity price risk — including metals, energy, food, plastics, freight, and other raw materials.

Our platform turns market data, financial news, supply chain developments, and company-specific exposure into clear insights that help businesses make better decisions in volatile markets.

We are looking for a sharp, curious, and analytical person to join us part-time as a Commodity Market Economist.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of financial markets, commodities, global trade, AI, and real-world business decision-making. What you’ll do

You will help shape the market intelligence layer of Spotlock’s AI platform.

The platform provides each client with tailored insights about their specific commodities, exposures, risks, and relevant market developments.

Your work will include:

• Following commodity markets, financial news, macro events, and supply chain developments.
• Analyzing how market events may affect commodity prices and client exposures.
• Turning financial and market information into clear, practical insights.
• Managing and improving market intelligence content inside the Spotlock platform.
• Working hands-on with the system to structure, review, and refine client-specific insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or a relevant analytical field.
• Strong analytical thinking and independent judgment.
• Ability to read and understand financial / economic information.
• Interest in commodity markets, global trade, macroeconomics, and market-moving events.
• Strong written communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with digital systems and learning new tools.
• Strong English and Hebrew writing/reading skills.

Nice to have

• Currently studying for an MA or PhD in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with financial research, market analysis, economic research, or data analysis.
• Familiarity with commodities, supply chains, procurement, or trading.

Role details
