The Operations Manager helps advance this mission by leading the day-to-day execution of the Finance & Operations department, ensuring the organization's operational, financial, and people processes are carried out with excellence. By creating structure, driving accountability, and continuously improving systems and processes, this role enables the ministry to operate efficiently and scale effectively in support of its mission.


Working closely with the Vice President of Finance & Operations, the Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Finance & Operations department, managing operational initiatives, finance and people operations, and administrative systems, while helping translate strategic priorities into effective execution. As a trusted operational partner, this role ensures the department's daily operations run smoothly and efficiently while building the structure, processes, and operational excellence that enable ExploreGod to maximize its ministry impact.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Manage the day-to-day operations, projects, and recurring workflows of the Finance & Operations department to ensure priorities are executed effectively.
  • Develop and continuously improve operational processes, SOPs, documentation, and tracking systems.
  • Manage contracts, NDAs, organizational agreements, and key administrative records.
  • Monitor action items, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure timely follow-through.
  • Support implementation of new systems, tools, and operational processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accountability, and operational excellence.


Finance Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the Accounts Payable and finance processes in partnership with the outsourced accounting team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff questions related to Ramp, purchasing, reimbursements, and finance processes.
  • Oversee finance systems, operational workflows, and related documentation.
  • Partner with internal staff and external service providers to resolve operational issues and improve finance processes.
  • Support Finance & Operations projects and other departmental initiatives.


People Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of people operations in partnership with the outsourced HR provider.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing enhancement of BambooHR functionality, employee self-service tools, and HR operational processes.
  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle activities in partnership with the outsourced HR provider.
  • Support employment documentation, employee communications, required training, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to people operations projects and continuous process improvements.


Project Management & Execution

  • Partner with the Vice President of Finance & Operations to execute departmental priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, implementation timelines, and operational trackers.
  • Coordinate meetings, action items, and follow-up to ensure projects and priorities remain on track.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, proactively identify operational roadblocks, and drive initiatives through completion.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ year’s experience in operations, project management, finance operations, HR operations, or executive operations.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with ExploreGod’s ministry mission.
  • Experience with Google Workspace; BambooHR and Ramp preferred.

  • This position is fully remote.
