Online Portuguese (as spoken in Portugal) Language Teacher

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring a Portuguese (PLE) Language Teacher to provide online customized lessons to our client.

Job Information:

• Ref. # 198007: Online European Portuguese lessons for a female adult

• Availability: Monday & Friday mornings. She will need to arrange specific lesson times directly with the teacher, as her schedule is tight due to frequent international meetings.
   
• Student's location/time zone: Matosinhos, Portugal (GMT +1)
   
• Preferred start date: August 3, 2026

• Lesson Frequency: 2 lessons per week

• Lesson Duration: 60 minutes per session

• Current target language level: Complete beginner

• Native and other spoken languages: Native Spanish; also speaks English

• Student's language needs and goals: Her primary goal is to learn Portuguese in order to communicate comfortably with local people and build social connections in Portugal. She is particularly interested in everyday phrases, conversations with native speakers, and developing the confidence to make friends and interact naturally in daily life.
   
• Learning preferences: She enjoys conversation practice and values teachers who can adapt lessons based on the student's progress and needs. She prefers regular follow-ups and accountability to support consistent learning. While she is less interested in highly structured lesson plans, games, group learning, or activity-based learning, she places a high value on independent practice outside lessons and personalised guidance.
   
• Additional information: She is particularly interested in meeting people and making friends in Portugal. She would like ongoing support and follow-up from her Portuguese teacher to help maintain progress despite a demanding professional schedule. She has previously studied English in London.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons

• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes

• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals

• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications:

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in the target language

• Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field

• Minimum of two years of teaching experience
